drowninginflame
Hey folks, I'm thinking about a follow up article to my Sox vs. Cubs WS piece - that is, if Soxnet wants it. Anyhow, I have an idea on my mind about what the fan base wants vs. what we're perceived to want: do we want a complete teardown or should we retool? I have my own opinions, which will go into the piece, but I'd love to hear whatever you've got on your mind regarding the team of the future. Thanks! caulfield12
What is the payroll? If it's the same or less than last year, forget it. Not willing to give up the draft pick as well, forget it. Edited November 7, 2016 by caulfield12
Bananarchy
QUOTE (hi8is @ Nov 7, 2016 -> 01:29 AM) My signature says clearly which camp I'm in ? Good article idea. ?? At this point it's the only sensible thing to do. There are too many teams doing it well now.

Sockin
I'm firmly in the rebuild camp, specifically because of the market conditions. They have a real opportunity to get MLB ready players into the system/roster and potentially get back into contention fairly quickly with sustained success. Not trading away some of these guys with the way the market looks on paper will be a massive missed opportunity. I don't want to hear "lets retool and if things dont work out theres always July!" That comes up every year and every offseason we're back at this discussion. I just don't see a way for this team to compete with the FAs on the market and the fact that the Sox have nothing to trade any other team to improve. Cespedes/Fowler does not put you over the top.
