Blue Jays are in a weird place. Kinda feel bad for em after years of that build up for it to crash so soon (though kinda feels like 05 white sox without the world series, they'll have a weird, near competitive team for several more years)

Some execs think #Whitesox are a sleeper to make big news at winter meetings. Can auction Sale, Robertson, Frazier, Melky under one roof

Yes I'm sure they are really "sleeping" on people, nobody has known they are shopping Sale

Also, I realize "sleeper'' wasn't the best word to describe #Whitesox. But until they trade Sale, the rebuild is all just speculation. https://t.co/Dj6c3u1PNh

My point was, Rick Hahn has a chance to make the meetings hop. If Sale goes, the dominos could fall quickly with other #Whitesox players.

And that is completely fair.

GMs predict: Two most aggressive buyers at winter meetings will be #Astros, #Nats; two most aggressive sellers will be #Whitesox, #Tigers.

nothing really new, but hey it's news i guess.

Illitch not going for it?

Is it just me, or do the Tigers intentionally make moves in a pattern designed to make everything more difficult for the White Sox?

The Houston #Astros getting poised to pull off a #Cubs season by adding Beltran, Reddick and McCann this winter, and still pursuing Sale

What does that even mean? I'm getting sick of the Cubs being the apparent model for everyone else and benchmark of how teams are constructed.

Well it pains to me to say, they are the World Series Champions and with that young core-- they will be very good for the next 3-4 seasons. Normally the team that most recently wins it all becomes the most attractive model. In this case-- its unique because the Cubs were very transparent about their plans early on-- pretty much indirectly admitting to their fansbase they planned on tanking for multiple seasons to obtain high draft picks and seek out quality prospects. When Theo took over in 2012, the Cubs had nowhere near the assets that the White Sox currently have to offer. If Hahn does this right, the White Sox farm system and main roster will be very fun to watch in the very near future. Listen, I know not all the prospects the White Sox get in return will stick-- but as important as quality of returns-- it doesn't hurt to acquire quantity as well. Chris Getz-- you will be very busy the next few years. Don't screw up the development of our incoming prospects and high draft picks.

With this accelerated rebuild, I want my favorite team ready to compete for a World Series by 2019-- 100 years after the sad blacksox scandal. How sweet would that be? "100 years after throwing a WS, the White Sox win it all. Okay, sorry. I'm a bit of a baseball romantic.
