dpd9189
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 07:14 PM) Deal. Add Puig too. Puig sucks and only has two years left on his deal, goes against RH's statement of getting long term pieces.
striker
QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 08:44 PM) Puig sucks and only has two years left on his deal, goes against RH's statement of getting long term pieces. Flip him. Or keep him for 1/2 a year, let him re-establish his value, then trade him.

PolishPrince34
QUOTE (oldsox @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 07:36 PM) PP34, how do you think that quintet compares to Bosox package led by either Benintendi or Moncada with Devers, Swihart, and Kopech on the side? I'd take the Dodgers deal just for the huge upside you would possibly get with Urias and Alvarez. You can always throw Quintana to Boston in another deal. Boston has the hitters we are starving to get. But you possibly might get two #1 starters in Urias and Alvarez. That upside is to great to pass up on. Someone mentioned earlier Urias might be better than Sale in 3 years and I might agree with that. Both pitchers have a chance to be special plus your getting other top prospects in the deal. CWSpalehoseCWS
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 07:41 PM) So, a question I have, is Sale the domino that teams are going to wait to fall before making other big pitching trades? I.e. Justin Verlander I would think so. Sale would set the market value insanely high if he is moved first.
southsider2k5
I have to think the Sox are looking at one of their top pitchers, and a whole lot of their position players.
Whisox05
@barstoolWSD is reporting talks between @whitesox and @Dodgers involving Sale and Frazier. Interesting possibility in many ways. https://twitter.com/philgrogers/status/798346603060953088 @Dodgers could include bats in Bellinger, Verdugo & Calhoun, a C in Barnes and young arms in Urias, DeLeon, Sheffield and Buehler. https://twitter.com/philgrogers/status/798347208223379456 If the @whitesox were really going to deal Chris Sale, they might prefer it be to the @dodgers, who could keep the @Cubs from repeating. https://twitter.com/philgrogers/status/798347576080789504

In order of real reasons to trade Chris Sale 1. Gigantic return 2. Not to a rival 3. Not to the AL
GGajewski18
Sale and Frazier to LA & Quintana and Jones to Boston Those 2 deals alone would net us 10-15 prospects alone with Abreu, Eaton, Melky, and Robertson left to trade.
Jerksticks
I feel like Sale gets any prospect in baseball. Sox should identify the one prospect in baseball they want and build from there. Is Urias really the guy? I dunno if that wows me after watching him struggle against the cubs' weak lineup.

GreenSox
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 07:11 PM) Fine with me. Then trade Q to Boston. I'd hold off on that; let's see what the sox can do with this bunch. Move Q later, if necessary. And if you move him, it's a full rebuild, so move Eaton. daggins
Given the typical Sox pace of rumors we won't see anything until the Winter Meetings. Still, any productive talks are a positive.

Still, any productive talks are a positive. In all honesty, the Sox should pushing hard for a Sale trade ASAP. He's really the chip that makes or breaks a rebuild, so Hahn needs to make sure if his price won't be met, he's still got enough options available to "go for it" it next year.
