GreenSox
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 07:57 AM) please. which way is the wind blowing today Superior GM? (here comes the response when he calls me and everyone else hahn supporters and blah blah hero worshipping) Everyone has an opinion, bothersome to you as it appears to be. As for wind blowing, I've been consistent- Sox need young talent. There are a lot of ways to get there. if that is now Hahn's approach, I think he'll do a decent job if it. Kyyle23
Its not bothersome to me at all. Im not the one calling people hero worshippers and group thinkers.
Dick Allen
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 07:54 AM) Nope. I advocated trading Eaton last winter to fill 2 holes. That's still a possible approach. I've never favored the Hahn proven veteran approach, however. So if the choice is Hahn ball or tear down I would favor complete tear down, because Hahn ball is a failure. Bregman is my favorite of all of these top prospect already in the majors possible, although unlikely, targets. Actually, you said Eaton was overrated, that's why he had to go. Not as good as his numbers. You were correct. He was better.
bmags
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 07:24 AM) Sooo assuming Springer and Reddick hold down the corners and McCann and Gattis share DH and Gurriel being paid to likely play third with other options able to play 1B, where does Bregman fit? They should really step on the necks of the AL West and trade for Sale. Gotta say, this is where the "Cubs effect" is going to hurt the sox. I would bet the Astros just roll with it. They also have AJ Reed who didn't show much in majors but could be a piece to trade.
Eminor3rd
If nothing else, it seems like the Astros are expecting to make a big trade at some point. Reed, Bregman, and Colin Moran all need places to play. Hard to believe they signed Gurriel without the intent to give him a job.

Bregman being able to play 2B,SS,3B (can't remember if he saw time in the OF at the MLB level or minors) but he could be used like Baez. Gurriel may see some time at 1B it seems and Reddick is terrible against lefties so I guess there will always be opportunities for him to play.
