Still won't get Benitendi and Moncada together as a package even by including Frazier.

 

The Red Sox still have plenty of options for 3B and DH that are less costly...both internally and in free agency. We should pick the one with the highest ceiling and then build rest of the package around him. Probably Moncada.

I'm hoping for a Benintendi and Devers package or a Bregman package.

Agreed. Moncada is nice and all but I'd definitely prefer Benintendi over him if I was given the choice. Devers would be a great get as well.

One question that I've been wondering is what if the owners back down on international draft. All of those teams like cubs/dodgers etc that banked on the int'l trade replacing current system -

 

WOuld they be screwed? What was punishment on them for length of time they are not allowed to sign Int'l talent? Or would they be helped in that they can once again raid the system for huge classes and take their 1-2 year punishments.

This is exactly the way it should be. If we don't get the return we deserve for a player of Sale's caliber then we don't make a trade. If we regroup for 2017 we build around pitching

 

Agree and I have felt he will not get traded because of that. But I wonder with all the Sale trade talk comments in the media including even Hahn, what does it do to Sale's mindset if he returns? Some posters feel the Sox have had it w Sale's antics but will he be worse if he returns. He could also come back with a chip on his shoulder and be more dominant.
