Severino really isn't a good prospect. Better than what we have, sure, but not exciting

Would rather not he be one of the pieces. I'd prefer to take a piece with some upside and find a catcher elsewhere.

Bowden: The White Sox and Nationals are far down the road on a trade that will send Chris Sale to the Nationals in exchange for Lucas Giolito, Victor Robles and a low minor leaguer. Reynaldo Lopez and Koda Glover will not be in the proposed deal. The structure of the deal was first reported by Ken Rosenthal.

The Nationals have a lot of those same types of pieces. They don't get as much hype as they aren't in the Boston media market, but as I outlined a few pages ago, they can load up a deal with the best of them. The one spot they don't have as much of is ready made position players, but they are loaded with them at the lower levels of the minors, all of the way through to some big time guys signed out of Latin America.

That's good to hear, so hard to get info on those levels.

Oh. Gross. Hope negotiations up that times a lot.

Entire #Nats baseball ops department currently at dinner. Certainly looks like any deal for Sale isn't on the verge of completion.

Haha I love stuff like this

3 players for Sale sounds super light. You would think there would be some quantity to go with the quality.

Bowden doesn't know s***. Rosenthal reported earlier the Sox would get Giolito/Robles and "much more". 0 chance they trade Sale for just 3 prospects.

Gross if that's the whole deal.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 09:26 PM)
This mindset is ridiculous. Giolito was ranked higher than Turner, Bregman, & Benintendi by Baseball America in their mid-season update. Only difference is he's a pitcher and he struggled in his first major league opportunity. And honestly, that's the only reason he's even available. Had he performed as well as those other guys in his cup of coffee he would not be available either. And why Urias is a big name player, but Giolito is not? What am I missing here? And Robles is as good of a second piece as you're going to get. This proposed Nationals offer is far from settling if there are another few quality pieces in the deal. The idea we have to get Bregman or Benintendi or the trade is a epic fail is f***ing stupid.

And still none of what you said changes that their best piece is still Turner. The Sox are not the ones who would be closing off and rushing negotiations when they fail to include that.
