LittleHurt05
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 08:48 PM) The Sox really worked hard to keep him healthy and keep him off of the surgeon's table. I really wonder if Boston will be able to do the same. From the day he was drafted all we heard was that he was injury prone. Yet the White Sox got two relief seasons, followed by 5 seasons of 174+ innings. He is probably more effective as a strikeout pitcher than pitch to contact but what is better for his arm? All this as Mr. Durable Felix Hernandez is falling apart after 10+ full seasons.
caulfield12
Justin Verlander would be another good example, although he rebounded and was a legit Cy Young candidate last year. For awhile, it looked like one of the worst future years contracts in baseball.
caulfield12
The Chiefs' pick of Mahomes was even ballsier, because they haven't drafted a QB in the first round since Todd Blackledge back in the early 80's. He's either the next Brett Favre or a bust.
ChiliIrishHammock24
Ugh, I can't believe a perennial Cy Young candidate is pitching like a Cy Young candidate. The trade we were all happy with when he was just a Cy Young candidate sucks now that he is pitching like a Cy Young candidate!

The Sox gave him starts off, weeks off, and short DL stints to really nurse him along. All as tons of guys guys went under the knife. Heck David Price put up about a decade of not missing starts, and any day now is going to have to end his season for TJ surgery.
OmarComing25
Sale already has 2 WAR on the year, I'm still rooting for him. Hopefully the trade is a win-win.

BlackSox13
Happy to see Sale pitching so well but still happy with the trade. Both teams got what they were after.

chitownsportsfan
QUOTE (steveno89 @ Apr 28, 2017 -> 11:59 AM) Trade can be win win for each club I wish Sale the best He looks good but the 2nd half has always been when he fades into a mere mortal. It was fun watching the game last night Tanaka and Sale both dominated but in completely different ways.
Reddy
Y'all. Sale is like this early on every season then blows up in August/September.

He definitely seems to wear down in September but his career ERA in August is 3.
caulfield12
Sale leading Kershaw by 13 k's for first in majors. 2nd in whip to Erwin Santana. Santana actually has been even better, BAA is .116 vs. Sale at .177. Of course, some of those numbers against the Sox, lol.
