Guys I don't quite see us as the worst team (yet). We should also probably pump our brakes on a guy who won't be drafted for two years.

Trade Quintana, Jones and Robertson and yes, we are probably one of the worst teams. Frazier, Melky, Abreu, Anderson are enough to keep us semi decent, but the utter lack of bullpen and pitching means we need to score 10 runs to win

AL teams will run train on a depleted White Sox roster

Unfortunately the Padres are trying to throw out a starting rotation inspired by the expendables

Again i want all those guys traded before the year starts if we get the return. The LAST Thing i want to do is root for this team to win. I want Anderson and Rodon to do well but if Carlos Sanchez gets a game winning hit i will be pissed. Lose and lose big and get the ist pick in the Draft and then the fun starts!!!

To state the obvious, we really need to start drafting and developing better, especially when it comes to position players. It's always frustrating to see all these well-stocked farm systems and then we have to give up a Chris Sale or Jose Quintana just to catch up.

Amen!

I laughed more than I should at this post.

I think as currently structured, were a bottom 5 team in the league. We trade Quintana and Robertson in the next few weeks, I'd be convinced we'll be having a top 3 pick. Trade Frazier and Melky at the deadline, were contending for the #1 pick.

If Abreu gets dealt I am not sure how this team will score runs

I fully expect Holland to get shelled

Gonzalez was surprisingly decent in 2016, maybe we could flip him at or prior to the deadline?

If Tilson is a starter, then our rebuild has gone very, very wrong at some point.

I don't know he could develop into a Denard Span type of player and that would be awesome.

Good glove, decent hit tool, solid speed

Tilsen could end up being a quality fourth outfielder due to his ability to play center

Lmfao legit laughed out loud on my train at this comment.

San Diego does have the worst rotation in the MLB by a very long way

It's not crazy to think that our AAA rotation might actually be better than their MLB rotation this season

Clayton Richard is arguably their #1 right now

Total pipe dream here =

That farm system would be absolutely locked and loaded to compete in the next few years

Add in some other shrewd moves and/or free agent signings and you are looking at a playoff team if things go well

1) Rodon

2) Glasnow

3) Giolito

4) Kopech

5) Lopez

Pen arm possibilities (or other starters): Burdi, Dunning, Stephens, Adams, Fulmer, Hansen, Clark, Cooper

C- Collins (fingers crossed)

1B - Bell

2B - Moncada and/or Newman

SS - Anderson

3B - MACHADO

OF- Meadows

OF- Basabe

OF- BEER

DH - ABREU

As a Sox fan you can dream of a scenario like this...

That roster projection is totally loaded

Banking on all your top prospects to pan out is a fun but dangerous proposition.

Tilson, May, Engel. Any wonder why the Sox reportedly insist on Meadows being apart of the return for Q? The Sox have three legit 4th outfielders but no starting center fielder. Tells me the Sox have a plan and know where their weaknesses are.

Anyway. I like the recent rumor of Meadows/Glasnow + Bell or Newman. If the rumor is true then all I can say is what's the hold up!

I think an idea for a #2 and a solid addition to pitch behind the resurrected Clayton Richard would be JAMES SHIELDS! Why not, they are paying half his salary anyway. Sox of course would pick up the tab for the flight back to SD.

The best part of rebuilding is being able to experiment with less than sure things or also-rans from other orgs and see who sticks. We were so hanging on a thread needing every bit of production we couldn't develop at major league level and we pushed everyone up to major league level as soon as we could squeeze an ounce of production from them.

I am 100% confident one of our experiments (or more) will pan out next 2 years.

I'm not really buying Tilson being a capable defender in CF, at least not on an everyday basis. And he does not have the bat for a corner job. His future role is 4th OF and nothing more IMO.

We still need Shields to go out there and get lit up for 200 innings per year

Somebody has to go out there and pitch

Are you kidding me. The guy has a career 1.000 OPS. He is a can't miss player. :P

Speaking of which, I'd rather give Liriano a look in CF next year than Tilson. He's the type of guy you give 600 ABs to in a lost season and hope you strike gold. If not, at least he's contributing towards a top pick.

Getting lit up and pitching 200 innings doesn't really mesh together very well. ;)

Well, the stats don't lie! Forget Meadows, he's over rated, we have Charlie Tilson. Show Charlie Tilson your OPS (cue Chappelle's voice).

As of now, there's room for both in the OF.

Assuming no more moves, this how I think our lineup would shake out:

1B: Abreu

2B: Lawrie

SS: Anderson

3B: Frazier

LF: Cabrera

CF: Tilson/Liriano

RF: Garcia

DH: Davidson

Not that I agree with it, but I think they plan on giving Avi one last shot in RF. And with Melky unlikely to be moved, I don't see an everyday spot for both Tilson & Liriano.
