Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go

Replying to myself. The first basee prospect I was referring to is actually Ian Happ, who is listed as a second baseman/outfielder. They also have a third-base prospect

named Candelaria who is highly regarded, and a couple of really good-looking other outfielders. I would certainly explore those options.

The fact that the Pirates have been trying to trade Cutch should tell you Meadows isn't going anywhere. They absolutely love him. The reason they are attractive trade partners is because they can put together a really strong package without him. Glasnow and Bell are top 20 prospects and they have Newman (#42) and Keller (#72) as well.

I would absolutely love a deal with Glasnow/Bell as the centerpieces + maybe Keller or some other high upside guys. Sox are not likely getting three top 50 prospects, that would be more than what Sale got.

If we can't have Meadows, then I want both Keller and Newman as well as Glasnow. If they're hell bent on keeping Bell, then I would want Hayes and another.

If they're not trading Meadows then they HAVE to move McCutchen right? Because otherwise there simply isn't anywhere for Meadows to play this year, and whatever they do with Mccutchen fundamentally changes the names we could put on the list.

I think that is likely what Hahn and Huntington are haggling about. I would be ecstatic if Sox acquired Bell, but he is major league ready and will really help their 2017 club.

Honestly I think McCutchen's trade market is holding this whole deal up.

And until they make that move they don't know what prospects they could afford to give up for Quintana and they don't know what their salary situation is. It's an entirely reasonable issue - they can probably get that deal done, but it will take work.

I would not rule out getting three top 50 prospects due to Quintana's surplus value

Moncada was not just a top 50 prospect, but arguably the top prospect in baseball. Kopech had seriously trended upward from the #70's to being #30, perhaps higher as well. You do not part with players like that except for an elite player such as Sale

Quintana could net the White Sox something like Glasnow or Keller, + Bell + Newman + maybe one more prospect

Without Meadows, I've come to my preference for a Pirates deal being Keller, Bell, Newman, +

It appears that they want to move McCutchen.

But he's an extremely difficult player to value... terrible 2016 in his magic 30 year. I can't see a team risking trading a top prospect for him; and the Pirates, understandably, want one. I can see a team doing some volume with second tier prospects.

The #Yankees have expanded their Jose Quintana talks with #Whitesox that would include closer David Robertson, if Sox eat part of contract

Been in a K hole, have you?

Duh. How could I forget!! He's almost guaranteed to be traded tomorrow then.

In the last 21 years 5 trades have been made on December 28th - including Tim Raines being sent to the Yankees in 1995 and Chapman going from the Reds to the Yankees last year.

All of these quantum mechanic elements added up lead to a near certainty of tomorrow's Q trade to New York.
