Bob Nightengale doesn't just make things up. Even if they're not particularly close to a deal Nightengale floating possibilities means they're actively looking to do something.

Also, its been an incredibly quiet offseason across the board. The Sox have been easily the most active team to this point.

I'm starting to wonder if this is rebuild or not or they just wanna trade the adam laroche whiny babies.

Good either way. Traded two whiny babies for 3 of the best flame-throwing SP prospects in the game, the #1 hitting prospect in baseball, Mr. Upside Basabe, and Dunning & Diaz. Pretty sure they are gonna keep trading though. Watch for another fleecing. Pretty soon we will have traded 3 guys for 10-12 pretty badass prospects.

Frazier really isn't connected to trading Q or not.

It's whether they think he will be worth a QO, if they want to give Saladino/Sanchez/Davidson time at 3B this year...if they want to extend him, what they think they can get at the trade deadline compared to the offers they're seeing now, the cost savings on his contract (not completely irrelevant, especially in the case of Robertson's deal).

Plus, holding him, Abreu and Cabrera pushes the White Sox into the mid 70's in the win category, and that's not going to get you anywhere close to a Top 3-5 pick with all the other rebuilding organizations around MLB todayl.

This instant news world we all live in has really ruined a lot about being a fan.

I've been as critical of the Sox (and Bulls, nother story) as anybody. If the Eaton deal didn't prove to people that they're serious about tearing this thing down WTF will? If it ain't right, don't do it. Q is arguably the top asset on the market, short-term and long-term. If it ain't right, you wait. Wait and wait until it is right.

In my mind this is absolutely a legit theory but we cannot argue with the excitement of the return.

I agree with you on that but still eaton was traded cause it was said he might not handle a rebuild that good.

Good grief, what is with people and their obsession with instant self gratification? No team trades it's ace pitcher and best hitter in an effort to compete the following season. Just because Q hasn't been traded yet does not mean he won't and there are more than enough rumors circulating to show the Sox are indeed engaged with teams about Q. Relax and try to hold your load for just a few moments longer before you spew.

I think it's a silly theory. Sale and Eaton had years and years left. You don't trade very good players on team friendly contracts if you are not rebuilding. The importance given to the LaRoche theory is way overblown.

Hahn just will not trade Q unless he gets some kind of headline prospect not just a bunch of filler. It absolutely has to be done right. Half assing it would be pushing to trade Q without a headliner.

There is all of January and February to trade some of the other pieces. No doubt we may start the season with some of Melky , Frazier, Abreu, Jones , Robertson . It would be very difficult to move them all and some are legit candidates to rebuild value or mentor the prospects. Hahn has done well so far . Rome wasn't built in a day.

And if they make a trade and the people b****ing feel like they didn't get enough, well, I think you already know. It's a great time to be alive if you're a Sox fan. Let the Cubs do their thing next year and in '18. Come '19? Good lord it is so on.

I don't believe in cubbie hype like you do.

97 wins NLCS appearance in '15.

103 wins WS champions in '16.

Best roster, manager and FO in baseball going into next year (oh yeah, they sell-out their park no matter what aka can spend when they have to) and you still don't believe? Whatever. -
