Balta1701
QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Dec 15, 2016 -> 04:07 PM) Yeah, I think Frazier is going to be moved at the deadline when some team finds their 3B under performing or with a season ending injury. The Braves or Giants could still make some sense, but I think they will wait to see what they have this season before giving up prospects for someone like Frazier. I think that the EE market is holding this up. He's asking for money with no teams willing to pay that price right now - once he moves, then it becomes possible to judge the value for both Frazier and Abreu better. Encarnacion needs to sign before a market for Abreu/Frazier will develop

I don't see this ending soon thou. Cespedes waited for a while and got exactly what he wanted.

Cespedes waited for a while and got exactly what he wanted. Well, "a while" was a full season for him. I don't think EE's moves end soon either, I wouldn't be surprised if he was on the market at this time next month, and I think it's very clear that teams that could use a DH will wait to see if he drops into their range. I can make a case for a number of teams that would have good fits for both players, but if EE or Bautista fall into their price range they'll spend the money and hold the players. Other teams that need DH types will still be waiting on Napoli too.

There's also Adam Lind, Brendon Moss , Chris Carter for teams to consider.
greg775
I wouldn't mind if they stopped now and dumped all the players at the midseason mark if we suck. See how we do, then trade them all if we reek with our new manager. Give him a chance to win first. Right now we got rid of Sale and Eaton. Big deal. Two of the pitchers we acquired were IN THE BIG LEAGUES last season. They could join the rotation and "arguably" the rotation would be fringe playoff caliber RIGHT NOW as it has been for many seasons. We've added a MLB ready second baseman who is supposed to be a star. Yes, the loss of Eaton weakens an already lousy outfield, but maybe we could actually sign a GOOD free agent outfielder and get a catcher who is not a disgrace. No I wouldn't mind if we stopped now. I don't want to win 50 games next season. Edited December 16, 2016 by greg775
