bmags
http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/white-s...osenthal-121416 Snippet Teams likely will not part with significant prospects for first baseman Jose Abreu when they still can buy a free agent such as Edwin Encarnacion, Mark Trumbo or Mike Napoli. The same is true with Melky Cabrera, considering the number of outfielders who still are available in trade and free agency. And few clubs need a third baseman such as Todd Frazier; the Dodgers reached agreement with Justin Turner on a surprisingly reasonable four-year, $64 million deal in part because the demand at the position was not all that high. The White Sox will be patient. Unless, as they showed with Sale and Eaton, they are compelled to make a move. We are going to have fun discussing Martes/Tucker as nauseum through February. reiks12
Unfortunately I have no patience. I'm in Thailand at the moment and my gf is starting to get angry at me for waking up at 5am to check my phone to see if any trades went down. caulfield12
If she is Thai, she will never understand...good luck! If she's American/European, you've at least got a 50/50 shot. 5 a.m. in Thailand is 5 p.m. in Chicago, more or less. I remember back in holiday time in 2006, the girls I was with from the Czech Republic at the time thinking I was nuts going crazy about the Danks/McCarthy trade. Ostrava, I hardly knew ye. In the Philippines and especially South Korea, Taiwan and Japan...you'll get more understanding. At the very least, you can see tons of girls wearing White Sox caps backwards or ala CC Sabathia for style. caulfield12
Staying up all night long here in China when those Sale and Eaton trades were going down was nutty but wouldn't have missed it for the world.
Con te Giolito
Part of my anxiousness to get some more moves done is to quell this little thought I have that the Eaton and Sale trades were about something else. Like Kenny is somewhere saying "Heh, yea...were...""""""rebuilding""""""...that's what it is" when its really about getting rid of two dissenters who humiliated the org in March. And now secretly another half of the org is crafting a plan to sign Encarnacion and Bautista and go for it again in 2017. Do I really believe that this is what is going on? No. But I also dont find it completely implausible that the struggle amongst the brass over this team's direction is continuing even now. So yea, another trade or two just to squash any delusions of "well maybe if we..." nonsense would be very nice. Even if that nonsense only exists (for now) in my nightmares. RyanSox
I really hope Melky and Quintana absolutely crush early on this year. Then call the Astros.... or Dodgers.....

If that were true, they would have acquired some MLB pieces in the deal. I personally think they were the first 2 because once they are gone, there really is no turning back.
