The amount of $ he will make over what his contract called for will be pretty minimal even if he gets through arb. the next 2 years without being traded or extended. Certainly not the superstar it seemed we had on our hands during his rookie year. Not meant as a dig; he is still on a good deal. His trade value, however, is maybe not as high as we would've expected. Plenty of first basemen out there. Be nice to have him around if they do keep him. He has more trade value than anybody else on this team except for Quintana. Abreu is 30 years old, so I think it's pretty safe to say that his best years are NOT ahead of him.
