NorthSideSox72
Well, no big trades in the past week. But the White Sox did do 19 transactions involving minor leaguers, Kannapolis is more likely now to get a new ballpark, and other news and notes all right here in the weekly recap. Catch up! Dick Allen
Here's something else. Blake Hickman put his time off because of TJS to good use. He went back to Iowa and completed his degree. https://www.dnainfo.com/chicago/20161220/en...te-sox-prospect

Here's his latest check-in post, mentioning his almost being done with the degree. Glad to see he officially finished now.
ChiSox59
I remember the Sox being pretty high on Winarski as a possible late inning reliever a couple years ago. Saw he was awful last year.
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Dec 20, 2016 -> 10:10 AM) I remember the Sox being pretty high on Winarski as a possible late inning reliever a couple years ago. Saw he was awful last year. He's wrestled with injuries too. He had thoracic outlet syndrome, had a rib removed (that he kept in his locker). Pretty impressive for a 36th rounder with that kind of issue to even make it as far as he did.

Is that what derailed Montas, too? I know he had a rib removed early this year.

That has been one of multiple injury issues for Montas, yes. Along with two knee surgeries and some minor arm issues.
