Any recommendations on where to take kids to see Santa that does NOT cost $30 plus dollars? Seems like everything I can find is either a "breakfast with Santa" or photos in the mall with Santa, but the packages are all more than I was looking to spend.

My mom mentioned the other week that Bass Pro Shops have a free Santa

Yeah, it's free, including a free photo. Gotta go early and get a free ticket to reserve your spot for the day though.

Ok thanks, I'll look into that.

Yeah free 5X7. We have done it for years.

It makes me so sad my kids won’t experience a movie store. Even as a adult in the west loop I loved taking my dog there and walking around.

While bundling up and going to a store in winter was annoying, there are few things as awful as trying to search for a movie on netflix. Definitely miss the movie store experience more. Do not miss the having to return the movie, however.

I remember waiting over an hour, hoping a copy of "White Men Can't Jump" would be returned. And the joy that overcame me when it did.

My dad waited with me and told me to make sure not to tell my mom what movie we got. I think I was only like 12.

We go to Family Video sometimes.

It's a nice thing if you want to get multiple movies at one time.

They do game rentals as well.

I remember paying $100 per year to belong to a "club" and having the privilege of renting movies from them. Buying a rewinder to avoid the wear and tear on the VHS player.

Redbox doesn't compare to wanding the aisles looking for something that was available and finding a hidden gem. I believe one the last, if nmot the last movie I rented from Blockbuster was a recommendation by SS2k5, Clerks.

I wish I could remember the last non-Redbox/non-OnDemand movie I ever rented from Blockbuster or Hollywood Video. It was probably from Hollywood Video because I only went into Blockbuster one time after I quit working their in 99.
