Who at this point is anti-Moore? I thought most of the Republicans jumped on board after Trump said, YES TO MOORE!

At the highest levels the National Republican Senatorial Committee has refused support. There are other scattered individuals who have also said no.

Sadly, the RNC pledged theirs.

So Flake, Sasse, and Romney are in the clear.

Here is conscientious objector Jeff Flake who totally announced a month ago "I will not be complicit!" proudly on the Senate floor photographed 2 days ago sitting next to accused sexual assaulter Donald Trump while Donald Trump defended Roy Moore. Complicitly.

Guys, I'm starting to think this Roy Moore is bad.

They already seat an open white supremacist in Steve King, they'll embrace Roy "Child Molester" "Things were better with slavery" Moore with no problem.

Trump is already elected, Moore is not. Not much Flake can do about Donald that he hasn’t already done.

What would you like him to do in that moment beyond his donating to Jones' campaign?

He could publicly tell McConnell that he won't vote for a single Republican agenda item as long as Moore's in the Senate.

And that would be idiotic. He was not elected for such a stance.

That doesn't make sense. Why would he vote against policies he wants enacted?

No offense but that’s absurd and a disservice to his constituents who had nothing to do with Moore getting voted in.

It is not unprecedented, but I don't think this tips the scale. Where you do see it is if a governor loses legitimacy in governing, where congress refuses to send legislation where the executive would be required to enact the law.

He should use some actual leverage before getting praised for making token gestures.

I don't actually expect him to oppose awful conservative policies because he follows an awful conservative ideology. But it is something he could theoretically do that could actually make a difference beyond giving a speech or send a $100 check.

So the latest two polls in Alabama are:

Moore +9 (Emerson)

Jones +10 (Fox news, which is a perfectly legitimate and typically good pollster)

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Nobody has any experience for how to create a random sample in this state or how to build a likely voter model when one of the two candidates is endorsed by the President and, like the president, is also an accused sex offender.

To make it look like he's in trouble and increase voter turnout?

No, which is why I added that explainer. Fox uses a legitimate and good independent polling company for their surveys, same as every other major media org does.

The big difference is the Emerson poll is land line only and the fox one includes cell phones, and as balta said, constructing the voter turnout model for tomorrow involves a huge amount of guesswork. If the 2016 electorate turns out, it's Moore by a decent amount. If there's a decent uptick in black and younger voter turnout, Jones could pull it off. I wouldn't be shocked by anything from Jones +3/4 to Moore +10 as the actual result.
