God help that there are people interested in Justice out there. You realize you're defending a guy who used women as a shield, struck someone with blunt force and then ran away right?

If they commit violent crimes on camera yes, find their names and hold them accountable.

He's trying to use DA's faulty argument that I only cared about that violent ANTFIA woman because she was a porn actress and not because she was a criminal. They use republican stereotypes on me even though republicans would never have me on account of my social views. Can't disrupt the narrative though.

What is a Republican these days? Any progressive social views would simply put you into the Kushner/Ivanka/Cohn/Dina Powell camp for now. The reasonable side to Trump's coarseness. It's a huge tent. Well, unless you're Tomi Lahren, but she fell on her own sword to get free of Glenn Beck.

Remember, anyone who doesn't support Marine Le Pen is a misogynist. Absolutely no exceptions, you're sexist and don't wan't a woman to be the President of France.

It's Obama/Macron vs. Trump/LePen, minus his military strikes which she has roundly criticized.

Was a week or two away from being Bernie Sanders vs. Trump, as Communist Party candidate was at 19.3% and closing. Socialist Party had an additional 6.3%.

The post you quoted had nothing to do with Trump.

I didn't quote anything...that's what I wrote about the French election results.

Do we need a separate thread about them, especially as they'll be over on May 7th?

I don't think there's any doubt in the minds of most SoxTalk posters there's a connection between Brexit, Trump and Le Pen.

Never underestimate the hate for Hillary Clinton.

The only way to defeat Trump, apparently...is to lavish him with praise from ALL media (even SNL wouldn't joke about him, ever) and let him bask in the glow of rallies every weekend, and build up his ego up so high that he carelessly does something so egregious that it would be considered unforgivable to American voters, even for him.

He said shooting someone in broad daylight in NYC would be overlooked by his followers, so we'll see.

We can add to the GOP thread.

Do you support cutting the corporate tax rate to 15-20% from its current levels?

Can you provide any examples when corporate tax cuts have benefitted workers/middle class in any country?

How will you plan to offset the loss in tax revenues, when you can't simply project (magical) growth rates or use dynamic scoring?

What programs/departments would you cut to keep the budget revenue neutral?

Do you believe it's responsible to add an additional $2.4 trillion to the debt over the next decade, and why?

There's lots of bad poll numbers out there for President Donald Trump these days. He has historically low job approval ratings, and nearly 6 in 10 voters believe he lacks the judgment or personality to be an effective president, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

What the focus on Trump's numbers misses, however, is that Democrats aren't in a great place with voters either.

One number in the Post-ABC poll really stood out to me as something that should worry Democrats pondering the party's future: Asked whether the Democratic Party is in touch with the concerns of the average person, just 28% of respondents said it is -- as opposed to 67% who said Democrats are out of touch. Those numbers are worse than the "in touch/out of touch" numbers for either the Republican Party or Trump in that same poll.

More amazing to me is that only 52% of self-identified Democrats said their party was in touch with peoples' concerns, while 44% said it was out of touch. (Also of concern for Democrats: Fewer than 1 in 5 independents -- 18% -- said the Democratic Party was in touch with the average person.)

Still waiting for a defense of the proposed tax policy...granted, we won't get the full details until May supposedly.

Ivanka VP 2020

President 2024/28

Jared 2032/2036

Donald Jr./Eric 2040/2044/2048/2052

Yay!

Let's see how she does at the G-20 "women and entrepreneurialism" meeting in Germany with Merkel today. Over media requests. On the front page over the French elections in the German papers.

I'm convinced had Hillary won, we'd be hearing a lot from Chelsea for 8 years and yes she would have run. If she is politically ambitious she still should give it a shot. Trump has proven you just need a name to win and she has a name. I could see some of the Trumps considering running in the future if Donald does well.

Conservatives starting fire Colbert movement after homophobic insult about Trump/Putin's "closeness"

Just imagine the uproar were the names switched with Obama/Ackmadinnerjacket or whatever the iranian guy's name is. Or Obama and anyone else, for that matter. Live up to your (not you specifically) own rules.

Will Hurd is the future of the GOP...seems like the kind of politician America needs a lot more of, on both sides of the aisle. CIA operative for a decade before running for Congress in Texas as a black man in 70% Hispanic district.

Justin Amash (MI) another, but even he eventually voted for the second AHCA after opposing the first.

At a roundtable with local officials in Monahans, Hurd emphasizes, as he does everywhere, that border security is a priority—but adds that building a wall is the “most expensive and least effective” way to achieve it. He strikes a disapproving tone on the Affordable Care Act, but tells them to “forget about the labels” of “repeal and replace” and says the only things he cares about are increasing access and decreasing costs. (It came as little surprise nearly three weeks later when he voted against Ryan’s legislation; Hurd staffers told me that day the office got hundreds of phone calls and only one was in favor.) And when asked about recent foreign policy developments, Hurd says he supported Trump’s missile strike in Syria—but speaks in cautionary tones about any American military intervention, especially on the Korean Peninsula, warning that North Korea has “the largest special forces in the world” and a leader who possesses “the capability and willingness to kill millions of people” across the border in South Korea.

Today in liberal hypocrisy. Dems demanding Comey resign after losing the election (bigly)

Today, dems upset that Trump fired Comey lol. Cant even make this stuff up anymore.

He certainly has the right to fire Comey, even though his contract ran through 2023.

What will cause a problem for EVERYONE, will be if he tries to jam his own "pet" candidate through the Judiciary Committee...that will cause headaches for Republicans and Dems alike.

The fact of the matter is that even "reasonable" Republicans are starting to question whether there might actually be some fire to go along with all that smoke over the last 9-10 months about the Russia interventions in the presidential election.

That's not going away, especially if an independent special counsel isn't named.

It's almost as if they were upset for two different reasons in two completely different situations and you're being deliberately obtuse.

With every Democrat in the damn country looking at that angle, and nothing to show for it yet, you still gonna ride that horse? Dianne Feinstein said there is nothing there, and she hates Trump more than you. And f*** your call for an independent counsel. Every time a Republican sneezes funny you Dems scream for an 'independent counsel'.

Hillary didn't get one, this doesn't get one. Move on.

I WIL agree with you, however, that if he tries to appoint someone not qualified it will be headaches all around. He can be hated by the dems, but still has to be qualified.

Not so fast.

Top Judiciary Democrat: "It was clear the FBI was taking its job seriously"

"It was clear the FBI was taking its job seriously, and a substantial investigation was underway," Sen. Dianne Feinstein said, referring to the Russia investigation.

Feinstein called on a special prosecutor to oversee the Russia probe. She added that, at a minimum, the timing of Comey's firing "could implicate" the administration.
