One that didnt go the Cubs way. The humanity.

Very interesting

I wonder if this pushes the Astros to make a move for Quintana

Or the Cubs for that matter?

Lackey and Arrieta are free agents and both are likely to leave after this season

It would highly benefit the Sox FO to at least have the Cubs in the conversation. It doesnt even have to be serious just enough that other clubs have a motivation to push in more chips to make sure the Cubs dont just swoop in on Q.

Pretty sure we are open to a Cubs deal

Jimenez, Happ, Candelario and Cease/Zagunis would be a nice package

Sources: Tyson Ross' one-year deal with the Texas Rangers is for $6 million guaranteed. Can earn more with bonuses.

Going to be interesting to see how Ross performs in the AL and in that Texas heat when the ball jumps off of bats. I think he should have stayed in the NL in hopes of putting up solid numbers to get a multi-year contract next winter. Ross' numbers have been shielded by pitching in the NL and the most pitcher friendly park in baseball but pitching in Texas with his High BB rate could be a disaster.

His injury is a big concern as well. That is not the organization I would would choose when coming back from the TOS surgery. That's tricky enough to begin with.

He is saying the reason why he chose them was because of their history in rehabbing that injury.

Good point. Coming back from injury, how much gas will be left in the tank of that arm come September and beyond? I know Texas needed to do something, but Ross? I don't see Ross, his injury and pitching in the AL being a good recipe.

I guess. But he's picking a few good out of a larger question mark. Maybe they are good with the smaller sample. It would still give me pause in the big picture.

Jimenez and Happ would be enough for me. It's light i know but i would take in a heartbeat. Throw in Cease and its a done deal. I would ake Cantini the catcher over Zagunis.

I wonder if the Cubs might bite on something like this. Theo just said in the media in the last few weeks that the plan all along was to load up on hitting prospects with the idea of trading some of them for pitching at some point. I'm not sure they would consider moving Jimenez though.
