The mainstream media has plenty of instances of sexual abuse. We don’t bring up that every time we talk about them why not? I’d rather have my daughter have her social security number compromised then be subjected to an environment of sexual abuse all the time.

Wikileaks also has a 100% record of veracity. One hundred percent.

Given the Panama Papers weren’t leaked by Wikileaks, yes, we should overlook them.

Journalism isn't just stating facts. That's not journalism. Otherwise journalism would be nothing but box scores and entire transcripts of speeches. It's incredibly unethical to publish social security numbers, but that seems to be a policy point of Wikileaks - I mean, who cares right? The info was accurate!

Why did Wikileaks choose to not participate in the Panama Papers? Why did Wikileaks then accuse the US of funding the Panama Papers? If all that Wikileaks cares about is the truth, that seems like a particularly odd stand to take.

Wikileaks is an organization that obtains and leaks documents to the public. That's pretty different than journalism...

The nice thing with wikileaks is you can have both.

After listening to Trump’s Pensacola speech and giving up after one hour:

Wait until insurance policies across the country continue to rise, partially due to the ObamaCare mandate being shoved aside.

As long as the middle class/lower middle class continues to stagnate economically (they’re not all heavily invested into the stock market like all of Trump’s buddies), Trumpism will wither on the vine.

Those are the families in Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan earning $30-75,000 per year.

The ones who won’t receive any or much benefit from the tax cuts and will see health care and higher education costs continue to be more and more unaffordable.

Any economist worth his salt knows that giving them tax relief would be the best way to stimulate the economy even more. Injecting money into small and medium sized companies, instead of the Fortune 500 behemoths. The problem is none of those people I’m talking about employ lobbyists, or accountants who enable them to (legally) pay lower taxes than Warren Buffett’s secretary. The economy is already humming along at 3.3%, and probably closer to 3.5-4.0% if you factor in those three major hurricanes (Florida, Texas, PR).

Now is the time the government should be paying down debt...through increased capital gains taxes and lower estate taxes. This is also largely what led to balanced budgets under Bill Clinton his last 2-3 years in office.

Tax relief should be going to the middle class, infrastructure repair, strategic defense/military and breathing life into small and medium sized businesses. Everyone else will be able to take care of themselves just fine. When you help the middle class, eventually you can address extreme poverty. Right now, the middle class is being pushed in that direction, so we have to start fixing the problem there first.

Dude, that was some really ridiculous rant. You are in the economics thread, went from a Trump "Lock her up" chant in favor of Roy Moore, to 5 paragraphs on polling data, and then somehow that connected to insurance and then to the tax bill. Come on, clean that up and make it legible, bring it to a point, it's unreadable.

It’s amazing how thing skinned this idiot is. He can lie thousands of times straight to the public but gets enraged if a media outlet makes a mistake.

And then his surrogates and advisors have the gull to attack the media on TV with these same arguments. Fox News had to retract a Roy Moore fraudulent signature story within the last two days and had a huge debacle over the Seth Rich conspiracy yet Trump never has uttered a word about them being "fake news."

The ultimate irony is that when the media makes a mistake (at least the most reputable sources like CNN, NBC, ABC, etc.), they retract the story and issue a correction/clarification. Trump has been called out on his many lies and never admits any wrongdoing.

CNN, ABC and NBC all independently confirmed a fake story. A story that was just put out to make Trump and Wikileaks bad. I don't know about the later two but CNN has yet to retract their factually incorrect story.

You mean this? Because unlike Trump, most members of the mainstream media care about the accuracy of their reporting. And when they get it wrong, they correct it.

Now please show where Trump has corrected any of the 1,000-plus lies/falsehoods he has told.

Remember. We are now holding the media to a higher standard than the president.

When the President of the United States tweeted out a CONFIRMED fake video, the White House responded with “Whether it is a real video, the threat is real...that is what the President is talking about”

Weird that the White House seems to pick and choose outrage over “fake news”

Plus Trump is a big fan of Alex Jones. So fake news is pretty funny coming out of his mouth.

His schtick is to accuse others of doing what he is doing, taking the attention off his lies and inaccuracies, and putting them on what he considers his opposition.

It is amazing how many look the other way.

He even has his s hills doing this. Hannity ranted how Obama was obsessed with Teump. Like nobody notices it is the other way around.

Stories like this are ONE possible reason that Trump and the GOP will retain power.

Granted, there might be some missing context, but there's just no way that a logical person can side with the Oberlin (OH) students against this private bakery (once again, from all the information provided so far).

The idea that even that the school cafeteria's cooking Vietnamese spring rolls or sushi and it's considered "cultural appropriation" is just nutty.

Southsider2k5 asked for more stories that show liberal excesses, this is clearly one of them.

PS: Greg will love this story.

This is just from 2016 alone!!!

If Trump succeeds in getting all those crooked media members fired, we'll have the best media west of Russia and east of China. The most "humiliating debacle in ages" happens everyday in the so-called American mainstream media, and if you send us $25.00 in the next 10 minutes, you'll not only receive a tax-exempt donation receipt, but your very own FREE autographed limited edition copy of Clinton Cash by Peter Schweizer.

Number 1: Hillary will win in a landslide. The media was so sure Clinton would win in a landslide. Every poll reported that Clinton was a shoe-in. They struggled to justify their position all night, until, finally, they couldn’t believe their own bias any longer. When they announced Trump the winner I was buckled over in laughter!

...

Number 10: White people ruined America. Samantha Bee from TBS blamed white people for ruining America after Trump prevailed over Hillary Clinton. You know Samantha Bee, racism goes both ways and blaming Clinton’s loss on an entire race is one of the most despicable things I’ve ever heard. Her poor ratings indicate that many agree with me!

Donald Trump, Jr., fighting the righteous war against the corrupt media

https://www.yahoo.com/news/donald-trump-tru...-231215245.html

If they were really trying to get to the truth you would think they would reach out to the other side before running with it. They all have my number... they couldn’t care less about the truth. https://t.co/QDEUOgmAVx

— Donald Trump Jr. (@DonaldJTrumpJr) December 10, 2017

“So this week is precisely why people should trust the media??? Have you lost your mind? MSM happy getting their narrative out there and forgetting about the truth. Only did so when forced to by people with large enough platforms to call them out. Sadly, most don’t have that!” he said in a separate tweet.

Amazing! Who knew Honest Abe was such a regulation buster?

During a rally in Pensacola, Fla., on Dec. 8, President Trump claimed that he has cut more federal regulations than any other U.S. president including Abraham Lincoln.

One thing the Trumps are about is the truth.

Like Jr. and his meeting about Russian adoption. And father Donald doesn't want Mueller looking at his finances. He might make up that Trump isn't worth $10 billion and might be short on the American thing to do and pay your taxes.

Donald Trump is a God fearing patriot. Perhaps the greatest human ever. And his spawn are geniuses who just want to help their country. Why it can't be like Fox and Friendsa and the rest of the media have their collective tongues up anything Teumps asses is beyond me.

Still waiting on Fox and Trump to give one single retraction for intentionally sending out lies.

CNN is certainly too easily excitable, and should not be looked at as a source of reliable journalism. At best, I find CNN handy to get an overview of what news items are happening in various corners of the world, just to keep up on topic areas. And come election day, they are the quickest to put up real numbers to look at in an overview as they come in. Beyond that, they are inconsistent, with reporting ranging from good to trash. This is why at some point I set up a feed made mostly of journalistic publications - WaPo, NYT, WSJ, Economist, BBC, NPR and a few local papers.

That said, it is kind of hilarious that a White House led by a pathological liar is loving when CNN does something stupid and then admits and corrects it, when he's never admitted to the thousands of outright lies and just plain made-up stuff that comes from him.

CNN is excellent globally, below average domestically.

After President Donald Trump attacked CNN in a Saturday tweet — claiming the network represents the US “very poorly” on the international stage — the cable news outlet shot back in a tweet of their own.

“It’s not CNN’s job to represent the U.S to the world. That’s yours. Our job is to report the news. #FactsFirst,” tweeted CNN’s official public relations account.

@FoxNews is MUCH more important in the United States than CNN, but outside of the U.S., CNN International is still a major source of (Fake) news, and they represent our Nation to the WORLD very poorly. The outside world does not see the truth from them! Donald J. Trump

Lightweight Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a total flunky for Chuck Schumer and someone who would come to my office “begging” for campaign contributions not so long ago (and would do anything for them), is now in the ring fighting against Trump. Very disloyal to Bill & Crooked-USED!
