This McMaster press conference is a disaster and he just confirmed that Trump revealed the city where the source was and that he decided to share this information on the spot. Brutal.

McMaster: “The president wasn’t even aware where this information came from. He wasn’t briefed on the sources and methods”

They had no real answer for why if Trump's sharing of info with the Russians was no big deal, some staff immediately contacted the CIA and NSA in order to start the damage control, and why the WaPo story would somehow be the thing that damages national security.

Putin gets Trump to hold the meeting in the first place, Trump & Co let a known Russian spy and Russian state media into the oval office with tons of equipment but no US press, and then Trump reveals highly classified information from one of our allies to the Russians. All of this after he fires Comey because Comey was investigating his campaign's ties to Russia.

Mitch McConnell tells Bloomberg News he's recommending Merrick Garland for FBI director. This would give Trump a vacancy to fill on the DC circuit court and flip control of the court back to Republicans. McConnell is an evil man.

The GOP are some special kind of f***s.

Well, Cornyn asked to be removed from consideration for head of FBI.

I will be surprised if it isn't Cornyn, he is a big trump fan. Interesting that extinct Jurassic era birdman Trey Gowdy took himself out of consideration

So, i am now surprised

I'm sure they appreciate their intel being given to Russia, who will certainly give it to Iran, Israel's BFF.

It hasnt gotten a lot of headlines because of Trump's other disasters, but his administration made a bunch of enemies with Israel the other day when they implied that the Wailing Wall wasnt Jewish territory. Of course this has been walked back, but it just shows that he clearly has no coherent plan for the Middle East.

Its probably smarter if he doesnt go. Since that is the smart thing I fully expect he will be there.

There is no good option there and no matter what you do you offend someone. I cant believe that they picked this for his first trip. Even the Vatican is going to be a hornets nest for Trump.

But Im sure that were just a few days away from Trump saying something like "Nobody knows the Middle East better than me."

This has, at times, chafed the president, according to two officials with knowledge of the situation. Mr. Trump, who still openly laments having to dismiss his first national security adviser, Michael T. Flynn, has groused that General McMaster talks too much in meetings, and the president has referred to him as “a pain,” according to one of the officials.

McMaster is going to be out the door soon and Trump still really wishes he had a known compromised asset as his head of NSC.

You can add the hilarious detail that Bannon supposedly ordered all the tv's at full blast volume so nobody could catch the details of what they were all yelling about in Spicer's office.

At least Spicey had the sense not to send himself out. Self-preservation instincts.

The scary thing is that McMaster and Mattis are two of the brightest minds left and the only remaining checks against Trump.

Another irony is that Bannon was against firing Comey, the Kushners for it. Now Trump doesn't trust anyone's advice.

Supposedly, Sessions and Wilbur Ross are also on the chopping block as well.

There's also the story they basically want to outsource the media shop/press briefings to a Fox News production team, and I'm pretty sure they were serious about that one.

Numerous Republicans demanded more information from the White House. Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.), a former U.S. Marine who served in Iraq, asked to see the transcript of Trump’s conversation with the Russian officials.

“For the purpose of transparency, the White House should share a transcript of the meeting with the House and Senate intelligence committees,” Gallagher wrote in a series of tweets. “As an intelligence officer by training, I know firsthand the life and death implications of safeguarding classified information…Our allies and partners must have the utmost confidence that sensitive information they share with us will not be disclosed.”

Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-Va.), a moderate Republican representing a swing district in the D.C. suburbs, called the reports "highly troubling" and demanded classified briefings on the conversation between Trump and two top Russian officials in the Oval Office last week.

"We need to have immediate classified briefings on what occurred at this meeting so that Congress can at least know as much as Russian leaders and know the impact on our national security, our allies, and our men and women protecting our country," Comstock said.
