Board Question:

There was a decent article sometime back comparing how Trump could end up like Jimmy Carter, in that Carter fumbled his relationship with a majority dem congress so badly nothing of substance passed.

If tax reform and ACA measures can't get passed (say takes too long then Dems gain the House in 18), do we see it as remotely possible Trump would be primaried?

The biggest issue is that there is no chance that the Dems take anything in two years and all pundits point to a ground loss in 2018.

You mean those fake news sites who predicted that Hillary would win and Democrats would keep the Senate and maybe take the House?

2 years is a long time, a lot of red states have a lot of people who use Obamacare, ever seen how people react when you take something away from them?

Maybe Republicans gain, maybe they dont. But the fear is already creeping in, and its only been a month.

Trump did something Hillary couldnt, he mobilized the left in a way that I have never seen in my life. He basically turned Twitter into a political weapon and now the left is using that weapon against him and his party. The people with the huge Twitter followers are generally liberal. Another case of, unintended consequences.

Brett. This is from an article on The Hill. The Supreme Court would probably slow play this, Gorsuch or not.

"It is impossible to predict what the Supreme Court will do, but in recent, controversial matters, the court has proceeded slowly. It was more than six years after the establishment of the Guantanamo Bay detention camps that the Supreme Court ruled on the habeas corpus rights of persons detained there."

LOL no way. What sunlight has he put between him and Trump?

He has three years to let Trump continue to fall flat on his orange face, and back away hands up saying "I wasnt on board with THAT"

Not saying he is gonna win, but I think he is going to run

The only one suporting the dems in here and portraying a Conservative is you.

But hey, you keep thinking nothign has been added. You libs do a great job of sticking your head in the ground and blame everyone else.

You literally just told me that a policy was worth supporting because Barack Obama and Joe Biden did, while I still can obviously see that is violated the Religion clauses of our constitution.

I think there would have to be something major happen. Some scandal that not even they could hide from. Which seems almost impossible at this point. This doesn't seem like the group to challenge Trump. Who would even challenge him? Someone like Rubio. Trump would crush him.

Look at how they voted for his cabinet.

YES - 412

NO - 3

Republicans know how to fall in line.

You have all convinced me with the McMullin stuff, good points there. When was last real primary of a president up for re-election? Feels like the party apparatus would shut it down, but with McMullin not currently an elected official it makes sense.

Right but I think where I can see it happening is they are all doing this because they want the big tax reform bill to pass. If that doesn't pass, there is no reason for them to support the circus.

I think this gets at the main deal here. Congress wants to play Trump's game in order to get their priorities addressed. After they have gotten the bulk of them - or if they discover they will never get them - they will turn hard away from him prior to the 2018 Congressional elections.

1) The Us Protects minority groups with refugees in general

2) You don't bring in minors without their parents

3) The list comes from President Obama

4) It's not unconstitutional, the 9th district did not rule on it's constitutionality

5) The nuclear option won't happen in time nor will it be necessary. As you all were wrong with the election you are all wrong thinking that this will be anything but in favor of the President. I have more faith in the liberals on the Courts than you liberals here.

6) The 11,000,000 are all criminals. Not just 800,000. You tell that it's ok to those families that have lost loved ones thanks to the crime of illegals.

So far, greatest President ever. He made promises and he's keeping them at lightning speed including fixing our healthcare not just dismantling it like every single liberal though he'd do.

Candidate Trump called for a total ban of Muslims. Couldn't live up to his promise because the damn liberal judicial system knows how to read the Constitution. DeVos will take care of that with the next generation.

Healthcare is fixed?

Health savings accounts and block grants until the money runs out...we'll all have access in the same way we all have access to the local Lambourghini/Ferrari/Maserati dealership.

References to ACA and ObamaCare totally wiped from all WH/government websites. That will surely help.

I do, it's not, it's a ban for a short period of time from 7 countries. It is not a ban on Muslims. 90% of the foreign Muslims are under no such EO. Just stop, please folks, I know you don't like anything that helps America. Please just stop.

It's not racist at all. Typical liberal playbook.

The "people" are allowing an even bigger landslide in 2018.

While the SC is political, they are nothing like the 9th Circuit. They are going to side with the Constitution. Even with 8 judges, the vote will side with the President.

Trump hasn't done anything for health care reform yet, and will require 60 votes to pass meaningful replacement. Good luck, you aren't close yet.

Why are 60 votes needed for repeal and replace? why not just a simple majority?

Not sure what you are trying to say here on the second part. Missing some words I think.

As for the first part, I literally did not. I told you where the idea originated. Not that if the dems think it's good we should do it.
