He spoke truthfully as far as anyone can see. He was asked if he spoke with the Russians specifically about the campaign. He answered no. It was not an open ended question.

I did not have communications with the Russians

He's a liar.

Exactly, he could get away with that interpretation in Sen Leahys questionnaire, but this one did not specify about the campaign nor did he even ask Sessions directly. Sessions went out of his way to lie. And an odd thing to lie about! It is totally normal for high ranking Senators to meet with Ambassadors. He lied...Flynn lied...Cohen has lied. Sure is weird!

Senator McCaskill pushes back against the idea that it'd be normal for sessions to have contact with foreign ambassadors as part of his role in the Senate

E: she released a statement reiterating this and calling in sessions to resign for having "misled the Senate." Wish they'd use more forceful language and say flat out that he lied under oath.

E: but apparently she did meet with a Russian ambassador several years ago?

Someone needs to set up an excel spreadsheet of all of the lies they tell, so they can refer to it when they need to lie again

McCaskill is a centrist Democrat calling for sessions to resign but made a statement that at best confuses the issue unnecessarily. She said that she's been a member of the same committee as sessions, the armed services committee, for ten years and had never met with Russian ambassadors, but she also talked about meeting with Russian ambassadors regarding ending us adoptions from Russia several years ago. I think the claim is that as part of that committee she hasn't met with Russian ambassadors and sessions wouldn't have a reason to either, but her statement muddies the water.

E: this is a good point, franken didn't even directly ask sessions whether he had contacts with Russia, it was something sessions offered himself.

Nunes has zero interest in investigating this. ZERO

cant imagine why

Rand Paul was at least honest about it. Why waste time investigating fellow Republicans when they're busy trying to strip health care from millions?

After a SEAL’s death in Yemen, questions persist on Trump’s decision-making process

In part because the operation had already been approved by Trump and in part because the meeting was also scheduled to cover other topics, discussion of the raid was as short as about 25 minutes, according to several accounts, and as long as 40, according to the senior administration official.

In either case, the brisk treatment of a high-risk operation stands in contrast to similar deliberations during the Obama administration, known for its extensive litigation of risks in military activities and tight control of tactical decision-making.

“In previous operations like this, we would sit around the table for two hours and scrub everything. The intelligence agencies would put down maps. We’d have congressional folks talk about reaching out to Congress. The State Department would do its political assessment,” Kahl said. “You can’t cover the complexity of a topic like that in 23 minutes.”

Complacency/risk-aversion biggest issues with American workers

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/why-tougher-...-153036556.html

Trump undoubtedly tapped into a vein of frustration among Americans fed up with the kind of economic stagnation Cowen documents. But Cowen doesn’t see Trump as a savior. “I think he’s proving to be an ineffective president who isn’t getting much done because of lack of attention to detail,” he says. “For all this talk of change, Trump is just another symbol of complacency.” Trump fulminates about protecting Americans from terrorism, for instance, and claims the government will bring relief to Americans falling behind. But he doesn’t call on Americans to take more risks, show more initiative or make short-term sacrifice for long-term gain.

Where is all this heading? To more economic volatility, the continued displacement of jobs by technology, and even more feckless government, if Cowen is right. But the gloom won’t last forever. “People will be shook out of their complacency by changes and risks that are so big they can’t control them,” Cowen says. “Only then will America somehow find itself once again.”

Solution for Trump...let Pentagon call the shots and blame them later by claiming you weren't involved in decision-making process

Here's hoping that the NSA/CIA has recordings of what Sessions actually said...otherwise, deny deny deny

He remembers it all so vividly now. I mean, he was even fighting for Ukraine and it caused great tension!

Notice he has not recused himself from any investigation into flynn lying.

QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 2, 2017 -> 03:56 PM)

“The amount of time that I have at home is minimal, I need to make sure that it’s productive,” Bost said Friday. “You know the cleansing that the Orientals used to do where you’d put one person out in front and 900 people yell at them? That’s not what we need. We need to have meetings with people that are productive.”

uh...

I do love all of these Republican crocodile tears about townhall meetings being disrupted.
