Why would they platoon Tilson now? Maybe he's better than just a platoon guy.

Bourjos is probably just another warm body for Spring Training.

Tilson would get close to 75% of playing time so he'd basically be a regular. Of course, Bourjos would have to earn a spot.

Potential platoon with Tilson?

Anytime I hear the word platoon, it makes me want to throw up.

Platoon = 2 players not good enough to start sharing time.

The Sox outfield situation is in pretty terrible shape. That's where the most improvement needs to be made here forward as far as drafting and / or trading for prospects (in my humble opinion).

If Tilson's hamstring injury has ruined his ability to play CF I suppose Bourjos could be considered an adequate defensive replacement. He's lost all ability to contribute offensively though.

Honestly, if anyone is going to take over for Tilson, I would hope it's Adam Engel, but yeah, then you need someone to replace Engel.

It's nothing but a "meh" move IMO. Probably doesn't change anything.

I think Cubs are looking at a platoon of Baez and Schwarber (with Zobrist switching between LF anf 2B). Do they suck?

Don't really see the point here; it's not like he's a player who can be dressed up and flipped.

Just old habits die hard, I suspect.

You see no point in signing one of the better defensive outfielders we've seen in the last 10 years to a minor league contract?
