Nick Delmonico is having himself a nice spring. I'd start him at third in Triple-A and prepare him in the event that Frazier is dealt. Younger than Davidson and also a left-handed bat.

Huge Delmonico fan, although I'd probably give him a look in LF. Not sure he can stick at 3B from what I read.

Yeah I'm not sure either, but this would definitely be the season to find out.

Rick Hahn continues to preach patience for White Sox as they monitor trade market http://cbsloc.al/2meVb8B

Lol - the patience game will have to be a two way street. He'll need to be patient with a beleaguered fan base that won't be in any hurry to head on out to the 'ol ballpark while this rebuild is going on. Eight straight seasons of no playoff appearances, and now the promise of some ugly baseball on the near horizon will depress an already exhausted base. Patience will be required by Sox management to win the trust and support back from the fans, and that's probably going to take a little while.

Any reports on how Robertson has looked this spring? I think he has a chance to bounce back pretty significantly after being fully healed from his knee injury and could really build his value backup for a midseason trade.

I'm not too concerned about the Sox finding suitors for Robertson mid season if he is healthy and performing as he is capable of. Sox could always kick in some cash to land a nice package?

Doubt that any team contending would even ask for cash considering his deal is well below market rate for a league average closer. That said, it wouldn't hurt. I'd think if they paid some freight (say $6 million) they could get a B prospect back instead of a couple C+ types. Maybe an ORG's 6-10 ranked guy plus a lotto ticket type at best.

Scott Merkin‏Verified account @scottmerkin 9m9 minutes ago Both Holland and Kopech pitched on the Minor League back fields at Camelback Ranch with today's White Sox team off-day.

Holland worked FB location in the first, FB and changeup in the second and mix of pitches in the third.

Holland was up and down 4 times. Threw 50 pitches. Worked with Narvaez

Kopech worked on "fastball command and feel for changeup," per Cooper

Kopech was up and down three teams, throwing 45 pitches. Was paired with Alfredo Gonzalez since they likely will be paired in Minors.

Basabe is certainly the wild card in the Sale trade. If he turns into a solid starting CF there's very little to complain about even if Kopech and Moncada don't turn into stars but only solid regulars themselves. The Sox have been killed by having too many "scrubs" a long with their stars. League average production out of CF starting in say 2019 would be a god send for this club.

I guess that means the Sox are putting Kopeck at Birmingham? I thought they'd at least have him start the year with the Dash.

If he even has a modicum of command on his fastball at 96-100 and one off speed offering he can throw occasionally for a strike he's too advanced for high A IMO -- and won't learn much there. AA hitters will challenge him to throw his off speed stuff for strikes and a few of them will turn his fastball around and make him locate it.

Call and Basabe give me hope for the OF.

First #WhiteSox spring roster cuts: Spencer Adams, Brian Clark, Zack Collins, Courtney Hawkins and David Holmberg sent to minor league camp.

Kind of disappointing that Collins was already sent down. I thought he did pretty well.

The kid is years away, and it fits the typical pattern of handling the White Sox have always have used. Even though they are years away, they bring their top kids to camp just to give their kids a taste. A lot of teams don't do that.

And they can still put him in a game.

AA is a good spot to develop his bat. They also want him to log innings behind the plate (IMO he wont end up there).

It also may drive up his trade value in case they want to move him for other pieces. Personally I like the move. BUT, I still think he's a future 1B/DH with a plus bat.
