8 homers vs. the Reds and it's still April.

Looks like he's having a Jose Bautista / Carlos Pena type of breakout. If he has a career year, it could open doors for more KBO players to come in.

His style of play was always going to be a high risk factor...even if Giolito is a complete bust (and way too early to declare that), Lopez and Dunning could both be pretty special.

"It's just awful," right-hander Max Scherzer said. "Especially when you see the replay, he comes up short of the bag and you see his ankle roll over, his whole leg kind of falls apart. Seeing him in the training room, it's an awful feeling.

"You hate seeing your teammates injured severely. And I think that's what happened."

Getting an MRI Saturday...Michael Taylor will have to play center, but he won't hit enough to nail down the position.

How fortunate are the Cubs that the Mets are completely incapable of keeping their pitchers healthy?

The Mets have dead brained heavers that get hurt, and the Cubs have pitchers that are less likely to break down.

Not even that, but when you have a team with hitters at every position, the biggest weakness you have is a team with multiple stud pitchers. The Mets should be a concern for the Cubs every year, but they perennially lose one of their pitchers for whatever reason. You just know they're not going to be in it.

Wasn't that the same injury Peavy had? (albeit I believe Peavy completely tore his)

Close. Peavy tore the tendon off the bone so it required surgery to reattach it. This looks like a partial tear in the muscle itself. The healing process should be interesting. I think it will be longer than 10 days.
