NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (The Gooch @ Mar 15, 2017 -> 12:14 PM) Pretty good and detailed article on Kopech: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2697051...paign=editorial That 110 mph pitch continues to be mischaracterized in the press. It was an underweight baseball, which is key to understanding how he hit that velo. People keep leaving that out. Not looking at you Gooch, I mean the author of this and other articles. Yeah I didn't think of that when I was reading, but you are right. I thought it was interesting all the texts he got from the front office and member of the organization afterwards though! And even though it is an underweight ball, you still don't see that from other guys. You just can't look at it as "he threw a regulation baseball 110 mph." Thad Bosley
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 15, 2017 -> 12:26 PM) Michael Talbert Kopech Nice. Looking forward to his arrival on the South Side. He appears to have a fun personality which will add further appeal to the next contending Sox team.
ChiSoxFanMike
IF (and it's a big if) Kopech reaches his full potential, I think he'll be the best pitcher in baseball. His stuff is that good.

Not only that but I believe it was during the goofy drill where they are allowed to fall roll roll for the follow through.

His stuff is that good. Million dollar arm, ten cent head. Not that's necessarily the case here as I haven't heard that about him, but players talented than him have busted. Correct, though that aspect actually was brought up in the article. Just not the underweight ball.
southsider2k5
QUOTE (ptatc @ Mar 15, 2017 -> 02:34 PM) Million dollar arm, ten cent head. Not that's necessarily the case here as I haven't heard that about him, but players talented than him have busted. This is my number one fear about him. Guys like that tend to be boom or bust, and not much in between.
