Four of the largest rebuilding trades by the Sox ended up with the other team making the playoffs.

Eaton - WAS

Sale - BOS

Quintana - CHC

Frazier/Robertson/Kahnle - NYY

BONUS:

Clippard - HOU

Maybe they had a decent manager to work with the stars. Just a thought.

I read where there are 24 ex-White Sox in the playoffs this year. So there is room for s***ty players on playoff rosters.

Hopefully the Yankees are sending Rick a nice edible arrangement after last nights game.

Does this count if he is hurt since he is technically not in the playoffs?

I guess he shouldn't count but figured he was part of that 24. Colon and Thompson (I may be missing someone else here) shouldn't technically count either because they're not on the playoff rosters.

You did really well. They are counting guys who basically played for the teams.

Santiago, Boone Logan, even Ryan Rayburn.

Bill James Online‏ @billjamesonline 1m1 minute ago

More

Tim Anderson of the White Sox had an official At Bat in 97% of his plate appearances, highest in the majors. Bill James Handbook 2018.

I wonder if Tim's .257 batting average is one of the best all time of anybody with as many as 587 at bats and an official at bat in 97 percent of plate appearances. You draw 13 walks all season, it's very unlikely you are going to hit much higher than .257 just because of the laws of probability I'd think.

Joe McEwing to be interviewed by Tigers

That sucks. I hope he stays with us. I know he wants to be a manager, and he definitely could (I loved the flare he brought on the field last year as a 3rd base coach), but I'd rather him stay here. This team needs good coaches so badly, and McEwing is a good one.
