Jacob May needs to be sent down as soon as possible. Today would not be soon enough.

Just an opinion on this. I'm all for the rebuild however the culture of losing that has established itself with this franchise also needs to be dramatically altered.

 

That means you can't wait for the "kids" to come up and suddenly start stressing fundamentals, situational hitting, good base running and defense. IT STARTS NOW...TODAY.

 

The current players on the big league roster need to be held accountable by Renteria. That means if you can't make contact with a man on 3rd and less than two out, if you make an out at 3rd on the bases with less than two out, if you can't get down a bunt or play your position you are held accountable.

 

What does that mean? Benching, being waived or getting sent down...if the kid coming up is worse...who cares? Rebuilding right?

 

But it's time the Sox established certain expectations regardless of who is on the roster.

 

We've seen this same crap for years now going back to the last few seasons of Ozzie. And now that I think about it, I recall Jerry Manuel (aka Manager Gandhi) saying that in "today's" baseball defense wasn'tmportant.

Some of the guys who have no business being anywhere near an MLB roster need to be released. May, Narvaez, Leury, Sanchez, etc.

Bring Rayburn up now to replace May and get it started.

Also dump Asche now as well.

This is about right. Sox will go under .500 at home obviously but maybe only finish 10-15 under at home.

Road they'll lose 8 of every 10 keeping my 55-65 win prediction right on course.

If Jacob May is the best option in CF, they need to make a trade and get someone. I don't understand why they gave up on Bourjos. It seemed like he was the perfect stop gap and place holder for Tilson. Your thoughts?

I can see that for mental errors.

But most of this is just due to physical limitations. Just going to have to deal with that for this season.

Now it's certainly true that the Sox have been lax on flaws - mental mistakes have been ignored; and the FO has thrown put teams out there, intended to contend, that were poor defensively. They need to improve on that end.

I don't necessarily disagree with the points, but it's far too early in the season to know if players won't be held accountable by Renteria. You can already tell he is going to be more aggressive which is a huge improvement IMO. There are going to be in game failures with this group of players, and patience is warranted. I just think we need a slightly larger sample size before reverting to the thought process that this teams short comings are going to replicate what we've seen the past 8 or so seasons.

Exactly what I'm talking about. A handful of games into the season and fans are over reacting. It's going to be a very long season for some Sox fans, that's for sure.
