Exactly. This team barely has any major leaguers on it as we're rebuilding lol.

Yep, nature of the rebuild beast.

Robertson is dealing...move him for a couple hitting prospects asap. :P

Sanchez just isn't a major league hitter. Insane he's gotten so many chances here

It's going to be very nice to see when we have Moncada up during those crucial run-scoring opportunities instead of Carlos sanchez, who IMO will be the one sent down when Moncada is up. (Not familiar with Sanchez's option situation, however).

He is out of options.

But I agree.

One out bases loaded and we always seem to K

That's the "White Sox way..." Terrible situational hitting & fundamentals. Managers change, players change...results don't.

And speaking of not changing how about that run support for Q??????????????????????????

Incredible that he hasn't lost his mind by now.

It's like the saying goes: no matter how much things change they stay the same

Yolmar Sanchez is our utility infielder. He stays until Moncada comes up.

Jacob May needs to be sent down as soon as possible. Today would not be soon enough.

The Sox need to bring up Delmonico or Hayes as a LH bat.

That was a frustrating game to watch.

Lol, knew game thread comments would be a fun read. I think this rebuild is going to test some Sox fan's fandom.

Just an opinion on this. I'm all for the rebuild however the culture of losing that has established itself with this franchise also needs to be dramatically altered.

That means you can't wait for the "kids" to come up and suddenly start stressing fundamentals, situational hitting, good base running and defense. IT STARTS NOW...TODAY.

The current players on the big league roster need to be held accountable by Renteria. That means if you can't make contact with a man on 3rd and less than two out, if you make an out at 3rd on the bases with less than two out, if you can't get down a bunt or play your position you are held accountable.

What does that mean? Benching, being waived or getting sent down...if the kid coming up is worse...who cares? Rebuilding right?

But it's time the Sox established certain expectations regardless of who is on the roster.

We've seen this same crap for years now going back to the last few seasons of Ozzie. And now that I think about it, I recall Jerry Manuel (aka Manager Gandhi) saying that in "today's" baseball defense wasn'tmportant.

Right.....

Dude it's been 5 games. I love how Renteria has managed the games so far (except not pinch hitting for May in the 7th, tho I understood the move).

Let's see how this sh** plays out for a bit longer before we state this is the "same crap for years" or "new faces same results". Those comments would accurately describe your posts, however.

Dude (OK)...we KNOW how this s*** is going to play out, that's the entire purpose of a rebuild correct?

And I'm fine with that...I don't care if they lose 95 games (and the odds are they will) just play the damn game correctly...set the tone for the future, let the "kids" know stupid baseball won't be tolerated (looking at you Avi LOL).

You missed that point in your diatribe it seems.

Some of the guys who have no business being anywhere near an MLB roster need to be released. May, Narvaez, Leury, Sanchez, etc.

Bring Rayburn up now to replace May and get it started.

Also dump Asche now as well.

This is about right. Sox will go under .500 at home obviously but maybe only finish 10-15 under at home.

Road they'll lose 8 of every 10 keeping my 55-65 win prediction right on course.

I agree with your points Mark. The Sox need to play the game right, execute the fundamentals and try to win every game. If Jacob May is the best option in CF, they need to make a trade and get someone. I don't understand why they gave up on Bourjos. It seemed like he was the perfect stop gap and place holder for Tilson. Your thoughts?

I can see that for mental errors.

But most of this is just due to physical limitations. Just going to have to deal with that for this season.

Now it's certainly true that the Sox have been lax on flaws - mental mistakes have been ignored; and the FO has thrown put teams out there, intended to contend, that were poor defensively. They need to improve on that end.

I don't necessarily disagree with the points, but it's far too early in the season to know if players won't be held accountable by Renteria. You can already tell he is going to be more aggressive which is a huge improvement IMO. There are going to be in game failures with this group of players, and patience is warranted. I just think we need a slightly larger sample size before reverting to the thought process that this teams short comings are going to replicate what we've seen the past 8 or so seasons.

Exactly what I'm talking about. A handful of games into the season and fans are over reacting. It's going to be a very long season for some Sox fans, that's for sure.
