SoxAce
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 15, 2017 -> 03:09 PM) After? You didn't already know before? Funny how Davidson was raking the past two or three years in ST, goes down to AAA, and is horrid. This was his worst ST statistically and he's been raking so far in the bigs. YouCanPutItOnTheBoardYES!
Is Santana suddenly really good or is the Sox lineup just really bad? Combo of both maybe?

I watched Santana 1 hit the Sox over 9 when he was with the Angels... gave him a standing O with my Sox hat off. When he's on he's amazing. SCCWS
QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Apr 15, 2017 -> 02:31 PM) Idiotic to publicly try and trade a guy and expect him to pitch like normal. He's a human being and the distraction would be too much for anyone. Hahn really screwed this 1 up Good point. Q may be mentally shot after all the trade talk. Lip Man 1
I suspect the trade talk has started to make an impact. The guy is human...how could it not? Plus as per usual, they can't score runs for him. That may finally be bothering him more than the trade talk. Mark
caulfield12
It's more than not scoring runs. He's getting knocked around early. Or maybe it's just like Sale against the Twins in recent years...psychological. And that line-up, there was no way they were doing much with two of their hottest guys benched. GreenSox
QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Apr 15, 2017 -> 04:24 PM) I suspect the trade talk has started to make an impact. The guy is human...how could it not? Probably so, but they had last trade deadline to get this done, all off-season to get this done. Responsibility and accountability for this (and the last 4 years), or excuses? Edited April 15, 2017 by GreenSox
caulfield12
18 runs given up against the Twins in his last three starts against the Twins dating back to September 1st. That's 75% of his poor numbers right there. In his other 6 starts, he's given up a much more reasonable 16 runs. KC and Detroit got him for another 10. Weird. Essentially, the AL Central is squashing his trade value. And it's not even the Indians.

caulfield12
Chris Sale might go winless and still win the Cy Young, haha. 1.27 era and 12 k's but headed for a no decision, potentially. Edited April 15, 2017 by caulfield12
Rowand44
QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 15, 2017 -> 04:52 PM) If he is truly that weak mentally, He's not. He's had 2 bad games, it happens. People are going to speculate any time something doesn't go completely right with him this year. This guy has proven time and time again that he can handle adversity, he'll be fine. Sawx need to score this inning. But really, I wonder if baseball will ever just discontinue Wins, Losses, and Saves. They are completely meaningless, but are so hard to ignore. caulfield12
In line to get his first win if the bullpen can hold it. Official ERA of 1.25 now. Btw, Oakland with one of the weirdest no hit game lines in recent history against the Astros through 6.
greg775
QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 15, 2017 -> 07:46 PM) We get it, the worse Q pitches, the lower the value and the less the Sox get back as that trends. If he is pitching poorly due to the trade rumors in the off season, I think that qualifies as having issues mentally. The was the to the statement that he may be pitching poorly due to the off season rumors. I never said that this was the case. I was just responding to the poster who said it could be.
