flavum
Kopech turns 21 in 10 days, so he has time to learn what pitching means.

Sleepy Harold
The Birmingham offense is real tough to watch and the defense wasn't much better in the 1st for Kopech either (including his pickoff E). Sleepy Harold
SB for Moncada, relatively easily.
caulfield12
Was about to have a heart attack thinking Kopech got roughed up like that. Oops, didn't notice that game was already over with the DH. Apparently it wasn't as bad as the numbers looked, with some defensive miscues contributing. Still some control issues. And for those saying we should have a Top 3-5 system ranking, it's hard to believe we're Top 10 with how ridiculously bad that Birmingham everyday line-up is. BlackSox13
Those Barons' hitters are making it real easy to look at promoting a few Winston-Salem hitters despite being early in the season.
danman31
What are people thinking of Kopech's start to the season? Lots of Ks, but lots of walks. I guess I'd rather have this than not enough strikeouts. Control is fixable at his age.
Sleepy Harold
Moncada scores on a Delmonico single to tie it up at 3.
fathom
QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 01:19 AM) What are people thinking of Kopech's start to the season? Lots of Ks, but lots of walks. I guess I'd rather have this than not enough strikeouts. Control is fixable at his age. Totally fine, as the advanced level should challenge him all year. BigHurt3515
Danish: 6 IP, 3 R (1 ER), 0 BB, 4 K. Has a 2.00 ERA now.
caulfield12
So do they bring up Danish or Pelfrey when Covey is inevitably reassigned?
winninguglyin83
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 02:18 AM) So do they bring up Danish or Pelfrey when Covey is inevitably reassigned? I vote yes. Also seems like they should drop Schnurbusch. Golden sombrero tonight with 4Ks. Other than Moncada, Roman, Booker and Fisher, not a ton to get excited about with position players. BaseballNick
http://mlbfarm.com/index.php?team=CWS Mitch Roman had a 3-4 night. He's hitting .449 Jameson Fisher tripled. It's nice to see him post some extra base hits. Schnurbush isn't having anywhere near the success he experienced last season. 0-4, 4Ks tonight. Brandon Brennan was REALLY bad out of the pen for Birmingham: 1.0IP, 5H, 4ER, 2BB, 1K.. He's repeating AA in his age 25 season after posting an 8+ ERA last year. Ouch. He's going to need to figure things out quickly.

Rowand44
Danish is one of those fringy prospects I'd like to see up in the majors this year to see if there's actually anything there. So he's got my vote for first guy up.

southside guru
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 20, 2017 -> 08:38 PM) Roman continuing to hit. a couple of questions... 1) Should Booker, Fisher, and Roman continue to hit well and Dunning, Flores, Lambert pitch well for Kannapolis, will they stay there all season? 2) Is there value in them moving to Birmingham instead of WS? They're all college guys with advanced approaches!
