LittleHurt05
Phillip Humber faced 27 Mariners, and retired them all... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEDwKD8glC0

witesoxfan
One of the weirdest, most random, fluky perfect games of all time.
Bob Sacamano
Worst pitcher to ever throw a perfect game in history?
OmarComing25
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 01:02 PM) Worst pitcher to ever throw a perfect game in history? Looks like it, though if that call wasn't blown for Galarraga he wouldn't be.

I don't know, I could go either way on that. Galarraga - 4.78 ERA, 5.43 FIP Humber - 5.31 ERA, 4.60 FIP By fWAR, Humber has it, by bWAR, Galarraga has it. They were both pretty terrible pitchers outside of a season or so either way.

You're right, it's basically a coin flip.
bmags
I remember watching this on a phone at a backyard bbq. The best part was thinking Humber was about to take off, and in fact he was about to fall apart for good. Nice guy though.
Rowand44
Ya, this is one of those things in my life where I remember exactly where I was. So strange.
MEANS
Yup, me too. I was golfing with a buddy of mine.
The Sir
We adopted our dog that day. So we spent all morning at the shelter introducing him to the dog we already had. Later in the day, we were picking stuff up at PetsMart and I decided to check what time the game came on that day. It was in the 9th inning. Middle Buffalo
If you asked me when Humber threw his perfect game, it's as likely that I would have guessed ten years ago as I would have guessed five. I have no frame of reference for his time with the Sox. Edited April 21, 2017 by Middle Buffalo
ChiSox59
Wow...I remember that. Was just finishing up my senior year of college. Good times...seems much longer than 5 years.
Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm
Brendan Ryan, what a piece of garbage. Throw your bat and spit at the umpire because you struck out to end a perfect game. Like that theoretical walk would have meant anything for your team's success...

I remember real time thinking we caught a break but the replay confirmed he went, right?
ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 02:55 PM) Ya, this is one of those things in my life where I remember exactly where I was. So strange. Yep, I was at Indiana University getting tanked and I got an alert on my phone saying Humber was 3 outs away, so I ran/stumbled in to the house and watched the final couple outs with a few people in someone's room.
