beautox
If Davidson could develop into a Jesse Barfield / Mark Reynolds type of bat that would be a boon for this organization.
ptatc
QUOTE (beautox @ Apr 25, 2017 -> 10:02 AM) If Davidson could develop into a Jesse Barfield / Mark Reynolds type of bat that would be a boon for this organization. You mean if he could play 11 years, hit 240 HR and win a couple of gold gloves? I think any team would take that.

Matt obviously doesn't have the glove and is getting his look about 5 years later than when Jesse started. Having said that I think his glove is better than Reynolds and he does have some nice pop, doubt he would hit 40 like Barfield though. southsider2k5
Out of curiosity, does anyone have R/L splits for Davidson from the minors? Are they extreme?
bmags
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 25, 2017 -> 08:44 AM) That was what was apparent from watching him play. The dude will consistently hit the ball hard. It's a matter of making contact on a more regular basis. The one nagging part of me is Smoak also has really nice batted ball stats to very little end. Davidsons swing and miss could be same. chitownsportsfan
If nothing else, he looks like a useful bench bat going forward that can play 1B/3B/DH and hit lefties well enough to justify keeping him around. He has impressive power to all fields and he appears to have a good approach right now as well.

Donaldo
The more I see of Davidson, it is becoming easier to see why he was such a highly touted prospect at one time. His talent is obvious. Unfortunately, so are his flaws. He really needs to work on hitting the off speed stuff.
