YASNY
Clu calling Cwsox gay is WAY above what I did to get kicked out of WSI. (Even if Clu didnt get booted off, Cwsox is showing alot of patience with him) Last week I registered for the site under the screen name DMarte123. Under this I replied to a post someone made that if the Twins plane crashed then we could win the division. In my reply I said I would personally pay a terrorist money to shot down that plane; of course not being serious with it. This f***er VoodChile responds back about how innappropriate it was and how he can make my first post my last post. With all the freedom I have in this site, I atleast expected to be able to reply back and speak my mind. Nope....my lost post was a paragraph long rant explaining how guys like "jerko" can say he hopes the KC and Twins plane collide but I'm the one being b****ed at. I said if he was going to parent me to atleast be fair, even called him a baby. Voodoochiles response to that.........."IMO that was a tasteless, I gave you a second chance. HE GONE." Just like that kicks me off the site. 2 posts.......2 f***ing posts and I was kicked off that site. It honestly pissed me off how this guy can kick someone off if they dont disagree with him, or actually start an arguement. Just take advantage of the chance to call a moderator gay, because at WSI you would be long GAWN. That HAS to be a new record!!!
witesoxfan
Should I go for a new record, making a name called "WSI-Licks-my-nuts" or something to that extent?
Flash Tizzle
If 2 wasnt a record, I was about to go in there right after I got kicked off and make it 1. I was thinking of just creating a screen name for the sole purpose of insulting him, but quickly got over that. Apparently over there at WSI they follow the "code of conduct." If somebody insults another, they get warned. b****es over there at that site.... Adding to my exclusion from WSI was my inability to access the message boards under my computer. Im not suggesting someone did something to prevent me from going in but i do find it odd how after I was booted I wasn't able to enter the message boards again. You beat me to the idea witesox Good idea at first, except I wouldnt use a name that obvious. Mainly because of the fact that there are many more members at WSI, and I believe they could do damage to this site. You all have already seen what kind of havoc a hacker can cause. I rather infiltrate their site under a common names (Whitesoxfan, Maggliorocks) and just piss people off.
Al Lopez Ghost (old)
And I don't think in any way shape or form are we committed to hiring a minority manager. What MLB requires is that the interview process follow the procedures and I am somehow very sure we will. And I love the way Florida said " :fyou " to this bulls*** rule and hired a manager of their choosing without the BS dog-and-pony show of interviewing a minority. The hiring of McKeon turned their season around and now Florida is going to the playoffs. Ballsy move. and congratulations Florida Actually, senior citizens are a minority! YASNY
The manager that is eventually hired should give us an idea on what direction this club is going to take. If it is someone like Backman, though he may have s*** in his own nest earlier, then you can figure the club will start moving veterans and go with a younger club. Gaston, or another veteran manager, would point to coming back with most of the veterans still in place next year. And yes, I read this is a column somewhere. Not trying to claim this as an original conclusion of mine. I hadn't seen it expressed on the board and thought I'd share it.
FlaSoxxJim
And HOW OLD is everyone here?!? I assume "TAKE ADVANTAGE of the chance to call a moderator gay" is actually just a poorly worded sentiment suggesting we should be very thankful that this forum allows members to freely express their opinions?? I hope this is the case. I have experienced WSI to also be very tolerant of different viewpoints, so long as they dont descend into personal attacks. Maybe they have decided to install language filters, but there are lots of different generations that use these sites and I can appreciate a decesion to go that way. We are asked every day by society to interact with people without resorting to vulgarity and most of us manage to do it. If you need to use profanity to get a point across, come here to do it. If you need to resort to personal attacks to do it then please don't. I guess we all have different ways of getting out our frustrations at the end of a disappointing season. If you all want to do it by seeing who you can piss off and how quickly, then go for it. A better idea might be to just not visit a site you don't like and let them suffer from your lack of thoughtful or insightful contributions. Me, I'm thankful that a handful of fans have taken enormous amounts of time to build free online Sox fan communities. Neither SoxNet or WSI has ever cost me a dime, and both have been informative and entertaining. I would miss them both if they went away. But, eventually the headaches and/or financial realities of keeping the sites going may cause that to happen.

I'm gonna laugh the day an owner finally stands up to this bulls*** and interviews a woman, a senior citizen, a Mexican, a Venezuelan, a Pakistani, a black, etc. just to satisfy the complete idiocy of a rule that MANDATES you will interview a minority that may be completely unqualified for the job. Where's the rule requiring the interview of capable white men when an owner has made up his mind to hire a minority before the interview process has even begun? Where's the rule requiring the interview of capable white men when an owner has made up his mind to hire a minority before the interview process has even begun? Killa, I understand your distaste of mandates, but in this case, I disagree with you. Perhaps there could be exceptions for an in-season hiring, but I don't see the problem with interviewing a minority candidate. a rule that MANDATES you will interview a minority that may be completely unqualified for the job You have either missed the point or are just making an inflammatory statement. The ARE qualified minority managerial candidates out there. I firmly believe that you should be hired on merit and merit alone, however I don't have a problem with a system that encourages a GM to take his tiem and hire the right guy. How often is the obvious choice, indeed turn out to be the wrong guy? Why not listen to differing points of view from people with different backgrounds (that includes people from different organizations, not just different races). Where's the rule requiring the interview of capable white men when an owner has made up his mind to hire a minority before the interview process has even begun? That was basically my point when I started this conversation. It is my personal opinion that if KW is doing the hiring, that there will be tunnel vision to hire an african-american manager. Whether you like my opinion or not, it is a feeling I get and I would be surprised if he went a different direction. I just think KW will go in the opposite direction from the above scenario. But the bottom line is, that as long as it is the best person for the job, race doesn't matter.

Flash Tizzle
And HOW OLD is everyone here?!? I assume "TAKE ADVANTAGE of the chance ......................... Im sure that point should of came across in my post flasox, if you read the entire message. I said that you should take advantage of that (calling cwsox gay) ONLY because it is another example of how this site is a hub of free speech. Not to merely give an impression that nobody is free from insult on this site. I have nothing against cwsox and dont want to give the idea to anyone that I support what clu said;because I dont. Its the right to say it that Im arguing about.....(though Its not my decision to make what happens to Clu) What pissed me off about WSI was that I wasn't allowed to argue my point; Voodoochile made his word the last and ended the arguement. If you cant speak your mind on a message board, where the hell can you express it? Sure as hell can't in the real world, where everyone hides there real feelings. If I think that guy at WSI was an asshole, I wanted to atleast explain why I thought that. AND I didnt use any vulgar expression in any of my posts to get kicked off. Nor did I personally attack him; other then calling him a baby for isolating me in a post but ignoring others who wrote along the same lines. If your going to get offended from someone calling you a baby on a message board then you have self esteem issues. Kicking me was his way of showing that nobody dare talks back to him. Im old enough to take responsibility for what I say, and because i merely wrote down that line about cwsox doesnt mean you have to question my age as an excuse for what I'm saying. MurcieOne
I hate to play this card, but it is a feeling I have....... If KW is indeed the GM, expect the next Sox manager to be a minority. Minority? Do gays count as "minority"? If so, cw should fax in an application. :fthecubs For this comment, I've suspended Clujer for seven days.... This was an uncalled for comment, and he's lucky he hasn't been banned... We try and keep Soxtalk a place where freespeech is practiced, however when that privilege is bent to the point where other people are hurt... action must be taken. I hope that I never have to do this again, because I don't enjoy restricting anyone from this site that I've been working on, for over a year and a half. Anyone who is angry by this action can come and talk to me, because I made this decision, and I will stick to it. You can e-mail me your comments at [email protected]. -Mark J. Really, I was more questioning the mental maturity sometimes displayed here. I have learned that chronological age has very little to do with the intelligence displayed in posts. There's a poster on the mlb Sox board that always posts insightful and well-studied comments, and is also quite respectful of all other posters and their viewpoints. When I found out this year he was just 15 I was blown away. I taught 15 and 16 year olds for a time, and I would have loved to have more people like him in my classes -- even though those are the students that really make you work hard to stay a step or two ahead of them :-) As for your WSI situation, you may have a valid beef. If your initial post did not contain personal attacks or patently offensive content then it is odd it would get you booted so quickly. I try hard to avoid board wars that devolve to the point of name-calling, but it seems that is where most posters (rightly) get themselves banned. I have enough tension in my daily life, and don't seek out more in the few online communities that serve as brief respite from reality. Now that the seasons over, of course, we'll all be spoiling for a good off-topic argument or two on various political/social topics as a diversion. And as long as these don't lapse into personal attack it's all good. Making naive, broadly generalized and infantile attacks, on the other hand, should be encouraged and I'll start... Stupid %#@!*& Cubs and stupid %&*#%@!* Cub Fans can *&%# my #$%@*!!! See, it's all about directingyour anger at the appropriate targets :-)
