Still pretty early on Q, but he hasn't looked right in any of his starts, aside from dominating a bad Royals team. He probably gets moved in the offseason for one top 50 guy and some scraps.

There us NO reason to force a trade

Yep it's great that of the three most important players on the 25 man roster for the Sox future, one is seemingly dead, one forgot how to hit and field and the other one can only get Royals out. :)

This is depressing.

So, Anderson is the #2 guy and Quintana is the last one, but who is seemingly dead?

Rodon

Q always walked a fine line - we may just be witnessing the beginning of the end.

Yes. Thanks for adding that

I mean, you say that now, but based on past performance, Davidson could easily be in Asche's position. They're both fringe major leaguers, one had a hot streak and the other a cold streak.

Davidson has game changing power though and could possibly play 3rd, a spot where you have no prospects at. Might as well give him a season to show what he can do.

Can we just release asche

No cause he hit a home run so we have to assume he can at some point hit another. And we are rebuilding

I'd be more worried if the underlying numbers looked a lot different but so far Q's zone rate, O-Swing%, swinging strike rate, contact rate, hard-hit% and soft-hit% are all almost exactly the same as last year, he's still pretty much the same pitcher.

This was always the risk. Should have traded him for the best offer we had.

I know we'll hear "you never knew exactly which players were involved," but this scenario of Q's suckage and holding onto him is burning us. Sure, he may eventually turn it around; but losing a valuable trading chip is terrible. It effectively stunts our revuild because we were relying on him to be consistent Q. at this point, only course left is to hold onto him and hope for an amazing second half

Box score says 2 earned runs. Shouldn't they be unearned, since thee sac fly would have been 3 outs if not for the error?

No error on Saladino. Could have been. Should have been.
