Well, this road trip could be salvaged if they can win 2 out of 3 here

Just 2 more of these late starts. So ready for this west coast trip to be finished. It sucks being in the eastern time zone when your team as a west coast road trip. These 10:00 starts for over a week straight just plain suck.

Leury Garcia leads Rizzo and Benintendi in ops...and is now qualified in terms # at-bats.

Tim Anderson from high 160's to 134 and climbing to nearly 700 now.

Avi 16th, Abreu 60th

Bregman, T.Turner, Schwarber, Swanson, A.Russell, CarGo, Odor all under 700

Josh Bell really holding his own so far, of the offseason Q targets.

Leury Garcia is someone we should keep in mind for Jacob May. Leury looked awful in his first stints, and when he began raking it in AAA it seemed to just be the sign of a AAA player.

May is hitting really well upon his demotion, better than he had for 2 years or so.

Not saying this makes him a future starter, just that he may very well still have some MLB years.

Poster child for Overpaid.

Almost all major leaguers who become free agents and sign multi year deals are overpaid. Teams usually regret the multi year deals a year or so after contracting them. If they win a World Series (Gordon) then the payment is for past performance, not current and future. it's a way of thanking them for the WS.

...don't you repeatedly say that we just need to SPEND SPEND SPEND instead of getting prospects?

Let's beat this weirdo tonight. Greinkie is a jerk.

May, by most accounts, is a poor MLB defensive CF. Leury, by most accounts, is a solid MLB defender at CF, SS, 2B and 3B.

I guess any player can improve but May has a long, long way to go. Even longer than Leury had coming into the year. Leury hitting like this makes him a very valuable player, but even if he never really hit more than say 240/280/340 he's hang on as a utility guy for a few years. May has no such luxury.

Dan Hayes‏Verified account @CSNHayes 1h1 hour ago #WhiteSox for 5/23: Sanchez 4, Cabrera 7, Abreu 3, A. Garcia 9, Frazier 5, L. Garcia 8, Anderson 6, Narvaez 2, Gonzalez 1. No DH.

Tyler Saladino still sidelined with back issues. Not bad enough supposedly to go on DL

Just 10 day DL him and bring up Delmonico. There's three guys on the roster that can play 3B and 2B.

edit: and to add: AT A GOOD MLB LEVEL.

this team has some gloves at the important positions now. TA is up and down but overall has been at worst an average MLB SS over 120 odd starts and by most accounts has been above average. Garcia is run neutral to +5 in CF. Sanchez is + 8 ish runs a year at 2B. Todd ditto, although he'll be gone soon. Obviously Sally can flash the leather. Narveaz and Smith are mediocre but won't kill you at C.

I like it.

Looks like the Twins will be in 1st place by 1 game after tonight. Big game for Kepler.

Anyone think the Yankees are a bit premature installing a "Judge's Chambers" seating section? Won't Gary Sanchez feel snubbed, lol?

It's also too bad Matt Davidson isn't playing...hopefully he gets at least one start at 3B or 1B against his former team. Maybe WED day game?

Can't remember if Corbin's LH or not. He's going tmrw. Did they announce a starter to replace T.Walker on WED?

Greinke starting out at his typical 91-92 MPH early game velocity.

Sanchez K's. And Melky as well now. Gets Abreu to commit to the slider, that was fast, only 9 pitches.

Not an ideal start against Greinke. Can't let him settle down and get comfortable.

Four REALLY dangerous hitters (2-5) in the DBacks' line-up and lot of garbage. Team looks a lot different with Pollock in there as well.

To be fair, he did paint the corners. He was pretty spot on in that inning, the complete opposite of Seattle's pitchers

Lackey's ERA is creeping up near 5. Can the Cubs last the season without making one major pitching move, or they are simply content to add a Holland/Gonzalez/Shields/Pelfrey veteran rental to get them into the playoffs?

Unfortunate/ly they won the WS last year, or there would be more pressure on Epstein this season.

And Jose Abreu proving ONCE AGAIN that he doesn't belong at 1B.

SIGH. How much longer can this go on?
