Bob Sacamano
http://www.baseballamerica.com/statistics/...ankings/majors/ Currently 8th pick, not that far from top 5. Edited May 26, 2017 by soxfan2014
southsider2k5
After the 15-12 start, the Sox have gone 5-13.
Chicago White Sox
We're going to have an uphill battle to get a top three pick. Lot of bad teams in front of us. Obviously I'd rather have some breakout performances and a pick in the 4 to 8 range than the opposite.
GGajewski18
Out of the 7 teams ahead of us, you figure the Mariners, Mets, and Giants will surpass us so we can get a top 5 pick
flavum
If the Sox end up with the worst AL record, I think they get 4th pick next year. That would be acceptable under the rebuild.
caulfield12
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 26, 2017 -> 08:52 AM) After the 15-12 start, the Sox have gone 5-13. 13-9, then 7-16. Slightly worse looking.

yesterday333
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ May 26, 2017 -> 11:29 AM) Isn't Beer considered to be more like a mid first rounder at this point? Was he talking about the baseball player...
joejoedairy
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ May 26, 2017 -> 12:29 PM) Isn't Beer considered to be more like a mid first rounder at this point? Well, he is hitting 302/472/608 with 14 hrs and an 11% K rate this season. Its not as dominant as his ridiculous Freshman year but still good. ETA: He has 4 more doubles but 4 less home runs than last year. His babip is down 63 points. That said, 1B don't really go in the top 5. I still want him to be the pick for the Sox. If the Sox think his bat is legit, they should take him.
beautox
I think after the deadline we move into top 3 pick range easy.
maxjusttyped
Fangraphs projects the Sox to finish with the 3rd worst record in baseball. The 2nd pick is still in play depending on how quickly they start selling off assets. http://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=Standings
maxjusttyped
The Sox would be picking 11th if the season ended today. 3.5 games "behind" San Diego for the #2 pick.
caulfield12
9th. Percentage points ahead (or behind, depending on your perspective) of the Pirates. Edited June 3, 2017 by caulfield12
flavum
Six games with Oakland before the break. 2-4 could go a long way.
daa84
honestly, theres a really big difference between drafting in the top 3 and drafting 11. The cubs knew this a few years ago. A top draft pick is super important (as long as you don't blow the pick and take mark appel ahead of kris Bryant). we aren't contending, I'm honestly hoping we can trade some assets for useful prospects, and end up in the top 3. probably gonna be hard to catch the Phillies and padres

Maybe Aiken? Or the Benintendi/Fulmer/Happ draft... The funny thing here is the Astros made some pretty big mistakes (Appel/Bryant, Aiken) and they're STILL the best team in baseball by far right now.
