joejoedairy
Moncada activated from the DL. All Four affiliates in action tonight. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20170526 Charlotte (23-22) vs Buffalo (24-20) - Lopez starting (5-1 2.94) Could be his last start in AAA. Birmingham (15-31) at Mobile (21-26) - Guerrero starting (0-6 5.44) He's been better than those numbers indicate. Winston Salem (14-34) vs Down East (19-28) - McRee starting (1-5 4.14) Kannapolis (24-21) at Greensboro (26-20) - Lambert starting (4-2 2.88) Kannapolis is in 4th in the SAL (3 GB). Greensboro is one of the teams ahead of them. It would be nice if Kanny could win the first half and secure a playoff spot, and then move up some of the deserving players to A+. 23 Games remaining in the first half. caulfield12
Moncada 0/1. 899 ops. Lopez struggling here a bit in the 2nd. Walk and two hits, one run so far. Two K's in the inning as well. Two run scoring double to the opposite field down the line, pitch count climbing. 3.38. Another double, four runs in one inning, another oppo double. 4-0. Reminiscent of how Fulmer was cruising with a sub 3 ERA and then got blasted for 7 runs. Throwing 98 mph according to announcer. caulfield12
Another walk...Soto up in the pen. Danish and Minaya up to Chicago are causing the pen to be short handed. 42 high duress pitches already. Towering deep fly to Engel with the wind blowing out is caught at the warning track. Dwight Smith, Jr. Delmonico almost beheaded the pitcher with a wicked line drive but the fielder was shifted directly behind 2b and caught it. Liriano triple. Hayes RBI groundout, 31 rbi's. 4-1 Bisons. Edited May 26, 2017 by caulfield12

caulfield12
Lopez much easier third, limited pitches and got a nifty DP behind him. Moncada's first ab was a groundout. Walks on a 3-2 count here. 10 stolen bases this season. Back over at 903 ops. Caught stealing 3, Saltalamacchia. 18 walks, 43 k's....140 at bats. maxjusttyped
Sure would be nice of Lopez either cut his walk rate or started getting more GB's. A (entering tonight) 11% walk rate and 30.8% GB rate isn't ideal for success in the majors.
caulfield12
Another walk and then a balk...not one of his best starts. Grounder past Delmonico....off his glove, 1st and 3rd, No outs. More trouble. Edited May 27, 2017 by caulfield12
SoxAce
Maybe the White Sox know what they are doing from posters here wanting Lopez up the other day.
caulfield12
Two more runs, double that eluded Bourgy... Era up to 3.78. Delmonico messes up the tag or missed him....replays shows he's out but no replay. Lopez was't paying attention to runner. Almost exactly mirroring Fulmer with this game after a long stretch of good pitching. 4 k's, 3 walks, 7 hits...almost 70 pitches. Still not out of fourth. caulfield12
Dwight Smith, Jr. Homer. Two run blast, goodbye Lopez. 8 runs, last two shouldn't have scored due to blown call by ump. Guess Grudzielanek will leave him out there to finish inning. 4.08 era after starting at 2.94. Edited May 27, 2017 by caulfield12
SoxAce
Zavala already with 9 home runs. 2 in 2 days. Joel Booker is scorching hot. Also 2 homers in 2 days.
Dam8610
QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 26, 2017 -> 07:23 PM) Zavala already with 9 home runs. 2 in 2 days. Joel Booker is scorching hot. Also 2 homers in 2 days. Kannapolis is the only bright spot tonight. Jimmy Lambert is pitching well for them, any chance he could become a major league contributor? caulfield12
Would be a fascinating argument about the order of ERA if one of these four were picked to go 20 starts for the remainder of the season in Chicago...who would perform the best, Lopez, Fulmer, Giolito or Kopech? I'd go with either Kopech or Lopez, just a hunch. I'm sure others think the exact opposite, especially after Giolito's no hitter, that maybe something finally is starting to click with him the last 2-3 times out on the bump. Must suck getting blown out every game knowing your team is terrible.

Feeky Magee
QUOTE (fathom @ May 26, 2017 -> 08:04 PM) Collins just can't get the bat going consistently this year. Wonder if they will have to completely retool his swing His peripherals are virtually identical to last year (exact same walk rate, striking out 1.1% less, ISO .07 down. The only difference is a nearly 60 point BABIP drop. He had an above-average BABIP in college. 132 wRC+ coming in. Wouldn't be worrying that much, although would probably like to see a little progress repeating the level.

A lot on here questioned his hitch, and then seeing Josh Norris say today that some scouts think his hitch will prevent him from hitting at higher levels was concerning.
