caulfield12
https://www.milb.com/milb/news/chicago-whit...444/t-185364810 While Giolito said the improvements feel really good, he added that he's still not pitching to the best of his ability yet. But MLB.com's No. 30 overall prospect has been able to take a big step toward that goal with help from rehabbing Major League veteran James Shields. "He noticed a thing in my delivery about the way I'm using my legs, and so he actually showed me some stuff to work on in the gym, so I can better utilize my legs when I'm pitching, and I feel like it will really help to increase consistency, maybe extension, maybe velocity," Giolito said. "He's been around the game for a very long time. I know this was his first rehab assignment as a Major Leaguer, which kind of shows his work ethic and what he's been able to accomplish. So, I was trying to soak up as much information as long as he was here."
Quin
Lmao, if James Shields is what turns Giolito around.
daggins
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 16, 2017 -> 08:03 AM) Lmao, if James Shields is what turns Giolito around. The cause of, and solution to, our rebuild woes. Hopefully LG can keep up the string of good starts tonight.
bmags
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 16, 2017 -> 08:03 AM) Lmao, if James Shields is what turns Giolito around. He turned around Wil Myers, maybe James should go into coaching.
Bob Sacamano
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 16, 2017 -> 08:03 AM) Lmao, if James Shields is what turns Giolito around. Why would that be funny or a surprise? James Shields is a respected veteran with a good MLB career under his belt.
southsider2k5
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 16, 2017 -> 08:51 AM) Why would that be funny or a surprise? James Shields is a respected veteran with a good MLB career under his belt. Plus he is also a tallish pitcher, so the mechanics are probably pretty similar when it comes to using his trunk in the delivery process. Quin
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 16, 2017 -> 09:51 AM) Why would that be funny or a surprise? James Shields is a respected veteran with a good MLB career under his belt. Because of all the hate he gets here. It'd be hysterical if he's the reason Giolito got fixed and returned to Ace potential because of how much people despise Shields.
