June 10th Game Thread: White Sox @Cleveland Indians

Recommended Posts

Our starting pitcher has a better ERA than the Indians pitcher. Holmberg is left handed, and the Indians have struggled this season opposing southpaws. I hope José Abreu's injured knee / leg recovers from Friday nite so he can start this game. Go SOX!

Sounds like Abreu just has a bruise.

Wtf man, I thought his leg was broken the way they had to get him off the field.

Bone bruise in the knee is pretty painful. I got hit with a line drive in the knee when I was 16 and I had to be helped off the field as well.

Yeah, I get that...but it is being reported that he is feeling fine, that there is minimal swelling, and he isn't expected to miss multiple games.

Seems odd if it is truly a bad bone bruise.

It didn't look like straight on the bone to me, it looked like it hit the meat right where the shin and muscle meet. Which sounds incredibly painful

I'm not disputing that it looked like it hurt.

Was just confused in regards to the way he exited the field and the rosy outlook reported this morning.

Oh I'm not criticizing your account at all, I'm also surprised that he didn't get a small DL stint immeditately

Anytime there is point tenderness on the bone, they will treat it like a fracture and be extra careful. Most likely it's a "bone bruise" (even though those done really exist) but just to be safe someone probably told him this was the way they are going to treat it.

Omar has been more impressive than I thought getting on base and making contact....just not hard contact very frequently.

Davidson's OBP really sinking, ops now at 771, which still would be passable as a platoon bat against lefties, .889 ops vs. LHP (http://m.mlb.com/player/571602/matt-davidson?year=2017&stats=splits-r-hitting-mlb)
