Chicago White Sox
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 16, 2017 -> 07:04 PM) Giolito struggled through the first. Moncada walk again. I was following it, wasn't as bad as the box score would indicate. He was throwing a lot of strikes. Had one long at-bat where he ended up walking the guy. I think he'll rebound and have a strong night.

caulfield12
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jun 16, 2017 -> 06:41 PM) Zavala with his 12th HR. Nearing 800 ops... Asche 1.082 ops in 70+ at bats. mac9001
Giolito hitting 94-95 on the Charlotte gun. The fastball does seem to have a bit more pop today and with the exception of a couple at bats he's commanding it well.
caulfield12
QUOTE (mac9001 @ Jun 16, 2017 -> 07:11 PM) Giolito hitting 94-95 on the Charlotte gun. The fastball does seem to have a bit more pop today and with the exception of a couple at bats he's commanding it well. James Shields fixed him. And more confidence again. Chicago White Sox
QUOTE (mac9001 @ Jun 16, 2017 -> 08:11 PM) Giolito hitting 94-95 on the Charlotte gun. The fastball does seem to have a bit more pop today and with the exception of a couple at bats he's commanding it well. And that gun is notoriously slow right? Is he really at 96 to 97 MPH? Chicago White Sox
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2017 -> 08:24 PM) Kopech's command starting to be an issue in his starts. He needs a breather He just needs more development time. It's absolutely incredible he's already in AA given his age and extremely small amount of innings pitched. Heads22
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2017 -> 08:33 PM) Agreed and the adversity is probably good for him Sometimes these guys just get in a rut, too. I'm much more concerned about Giolito's starts to be honest. It'd be nice if Shields really did help him.

caulfield12
Giolito struggling in 5th, pitch count way too high with 90+. Kind of a laborious outing....3 runs in 4 1/3. Pull Giolito, hope the pen can bail him out here with two outs...another walk. Over 100 pitches. Purke saves him. I wonder how Blair is a framer.
