flavum
So you're asking when? Same birthday as Frank Thomas...Sox debut August 2nd. Good enough for Frank, good enough for Yoan.

SCCWS
Hopefully when he shows he is better than AAA competition. He has been very average lately and last i saw his SO rate was over 30%. After his miserable showing in Boston last fall, hopefully our FO waits until he is playing well in AAA. This is his first year at this level and he is having his ups and downs like many young players. This is a wasted year so we certainly don't want to screw up our prized young player. southsider2k5
I think we figured out the 4th of July is about the latest he can be for a super 2 deadline. Past that, I would bet when Todd Frazier goes, Moncada comes up.

If he's a strikeout machine in the minors and doesn't walk, you better wait til he gets on a hot tear at the minimum before you bring him up. MLB pitchers, even as bad as they are in 2017, know how to strike out our free swinging strikeout candidates. If Moncada is a strikeout machine, wait til he gets on a hot streak at least or let him stay in the minors for a few more years. Our fans seem to love prospects than MLB players. beautox
September or a few weeks into 2018, let them figure out what they have in Sanchez and Leury, hes doing great at AAA for someone who spent virtually no time at any other stops but there is no need to push him to the bigs and start his clock. caulfield12
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 3, 2017 -> 03:07 AM) Kid gonna have some pressure on him. Chris Sale has been EASILY the best pitcher in baseball. Sure, if the Cubs traded for him, they hadn't won the World Series (yet) and he was expected to be the equivalent of Kris Bryant. And it's shaping up to be another interesting discussion which cap Chris Sale will choose for the Hall of Fame plaque after two more years pitching at such an even higher elite level. Another Red Sox hat will sting just a bit, but he deserves an opportunity to final pitch in the postseason. He entered this year, his age 21 year, with like 100 PA above high A. Other than the two weeks before and after his thumb injury, he's been raking. Even when he slumped, he was still taking a ton of walks. By most accounts he has improved his defense at 2B up to where it would be passable in MLB. He has remained #1 on most prospect lists despite having literally a hundred or so guys that could have passed him. Scouts love him. Saber guys love him. There's no reason not to love him. There's no reason to think he hasn't lived up to expectations. Some of you guys need to relax.
