We are absolutely killing our bullpen...

Yeah it's extremely annoying how many foul balls Oakland is hitting. Pelfrey isn't even that bad in the 2nd inning...

Kevan Smith is now 4 points short of hitting .300.

The walks or power aren't coming yet like they did in the minors but he's close to giving a kick in the dick to the whole AAAA concept so many people here are fond of.

All-Star break will give them a rest

After the break, it would be nice to see some more quality starts. It's rare for our starters to go past the 5th inning.

Once guys like Holland and Q get traded, it will get worse, not better.

He has an 82 wRC+ despite a .350 BABIP, I wouldn't get too excited just yet.

2/31 stretch for Avi now...forget that trade, if it was ever a possibility.

How did Melky get doubled off?

Fiers threw 105 pitches in 4 innings last game, haha...more bullpen work, geez.

At least James Shields can give you 5-6 usually.

85 now. But I'm not getting too excited, hence why I mentioned the power and the walks, though I expect a reduction in BABIP should be offset by an increase in walks and a slight uptick in power comparable to what we saw in the minors. And given the fact he's actually rated in the top third of pitch framers, if that holds up, a wRC+ of 85 would make him a borderline starting catcher.

Elrockin or anyone watching the rest of this game deserves a special award...and more praise from Greg, lol.

At least we will be 1-5 against OAK this year, trying our best to get them ahead of us in the reverse standings (or is it behind us)?

On the negative side, Sonny Gray's value is really increasing thanks to the Sox.

I don't know about excited, but I am just happy he isn't hitting under .200, no matter how empty his BA is. I had zero expectations for Smith.
