Watching the bottom the the seventh (only a 7 inning game). Burdi is warming. Lucas looks like he's losing a little control.

Giolito complete game shutout!

At least my Giolito prediction worked out!

Heck of a game for Giolito. He likes those 7 inning shutouts

Take out his first 6 starts and his ERA sits around 3.92. I realize you can't take them out, but he's been more than respectable since that first month and a half. The strikeout numbers appear to be coming back as well.

The BP writer that was at the game was very impressed. Something I've noticed that shouldn't be a surprise is he seems to struggle against former Major Leaugers

I still don't think a Gavin Floyd comp for Lucas is far off at all. Floyd got a taste of the majors and then went to AAA the next year and had an ERA over 6. Both big guys with good fastball/curve combo with a lot of moving parts.

I also think the same about him, Fulmer etc. that I do with a number of those Charlotte guys - I wouldn't mind seeing them in the majors to be around a major league staff. How many guys have we had come up this year that have looked better than their AAA numbers might indicate? Get them around our best coaches and away from whatever they are doing in Charlotte.

If Giolito can give the Sox Gavin Floyd's 2008-2012 production I'd sign up for that in a heartbeat.

I was actually thinking the same thing today. Giolito might be better off in the majors working with Coop.

I mentioned that a couple of weeks ago. Prime Floyd was a damn good pitcher.

I think he's mentally strong enough to handle the challenge as well.
