Another former "hot prospect" that everyone was so excited about.

Still waiting for any proof the Sox can develop a hitter they draft under the Bell regime

Let's face it - there isn't much proof that this FO knows how to build a winning baseball team at all. My hope is that its Hahn's show (who hasn't proven himself either) , but reading comments here and there about how "Kenny loves player X" I'm not so sure.

As for Anderson, give him time. It does take a lot of guys a couple of years, and the Sox have a couple of years. Altuve couldn't hit a lick in his first couple of years, and the Astros stuck by him.

Wild pitch notwithstanding, Swarzak is the pitcher who has been getting the team out of jams this year. Teams are missing out not making a move for him.

If you were Holland, what would be your motivation to not just retire? I know $$ means everything but he might get hurt out there. He's that bad. At the very least, become a specialist who faces one lefty when needed. Surely this post isn't offending anybody. There can't be any Holland fans on this board can there?

Nice to see Avi bust out. If we lose, 0-3 since the trade; Cubs 3-0. Not that that matters, but interesting.

John Danks is out of baseball at 32. That's probably where Holland is headed because that's the nature of baseball. Only genetic freaks can pitch past 35.

You asked the same thing about Dunn...maybe Holland likes playing baseball? If everyone that was mediocre retired, you wouldn't have the sport.

How is that interesting? The Sox stunk and now stink more, and the Cubs were average and will now likely be good

We start a rally in our punchless pinch hitter Smith goes after the first pitch and it's a GIDP

Why is Smith batting anyway? Narvaez is the better hitter. Narvaez should start 2/3 of the games anyway - let's see what we have in him. His OBP is good, the stats say his D is pretty good

Smith is hitting .275, Omar is hitting .263 with no power. You can't really say that Omar is a better hitter. Better eye, definitely, but nothing to say he is a better hitter.

But he's so bad. At least turn into a lefty specialist where you face only one batter per game. That year Dunn was hitting about .155 he did deserve the same question. A pitcher could have hit as well as Dunn and a position player could turn out the same crap on the mound Holland is trotting out there. At some point it's embarrassing. Can't believe a fan would want to subject themselves to watching Holland pitch. I guess when it's Holland, Shields and Pelfrey you have to be a huge fan of baseball to head to the Cell when they are pitching.

Except Smith's been the (much) better hitter in the minors and actually rates as much the better framer thus far

Smith was not good in the minors. Narvaez was worse, but Narvaez is improving.

He's also 25 v 29. Heck he had a home run today.

Leadoff double from the 9 hole hitter, and the manager bunts to play for 1 run.
