Bob Sacamano
Now imagine a lineup where Melky is traded in next 5 days and Abreu gets a day off while Avi is on the dl.
Señor Ding-Dong
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 04:09 PM) Sucks, his season hit a wall real fast. Hope he heals faster than Leury has. witesoxfan
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 04:16 PM) Now imagine a lineup where Melky is traded in next 5 days and Abreu gets a day off while Avi is on the dl. Knowing this team, they'll do something ridiculous and score like 10 runs that game.
Lillian
How long has his thumb been injured? Could that explain his recent slump?
southsider2k5
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 04:15 PM) Who gets called up? Willy? Willy is the most likely, but it is worth noting that Rymer Liriano has been pretty hot as of late as well.
Dick Allen
QUOTE (Lillian @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 04:18 PM) How long has his thumb been injured? Could that explain his recent slump? It has been a while, so it is a possibility.

Southwest Sider
QUOTE (Lillian @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 04:18 PM) How long has his thumb been injured? Could that explain his recent slump? I think it might have something to do you with, along with normal regression. I like this move. Let it heal completely, come back, finish his slump and hopefully finish the season strong. This has been an awesome year for Avi, sans the injury/slump.
TheFutureIsNear
Didn't think it would actually happen but was hoping someone would trade for Avi. Don't have a whole lot of confidence in him next year. Hopefully he proves me wrong...

greg775
I hope they shut him down the rest of the year. His batting average has plummetted all because of the injury. He's done nothing of late cept see the .345 drop, drop, drop. Sox brass knows what he can do. No reason to play any more this season until he's 100 PERCENT HEALTHY. Kudos to Avi for a nice season. We'll never know what kinda numbers he might have put up if healthy. I mean if the thumb gets 100 percent better, fine. If not, shut er down please.
