Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 13, 2017 -> 06:00 PM) Bears claimed former Bucs kicker Roberto Aguayo off waivers. Really nice move. He was awesome in college and is only 23. These are shots worth taking. Isn't that the guy the Bucs foolishly traded up to draft in the 2nd round last year? I knew he was bad (fantasy team) but that's really surprising they cut him after one year. Like you said, though, good move by the Bears.

It's bad enough to draft a kicker in the 2nd round, let alone trade up to get him.
SoxAce
He is awful, but he is very young. Maybe Bears can get his game/head straight. If he figures it out, Bears have their kicker for the next decade +.
Chisoxfn
He stunk it up and got into a funk, but he was pretty amazing in college. Well worth the claim, imo.
bmags
TB may have had him try maneuvers to sell out for more power. Bears, having already lived with a no power kicker, may just ask he be automatic within 40 and XPs.
dasox24
Agreed with the posts above. There is zero downside to adding Aguayo. If he can rediscover the way he kicked in college, we have a kicker for the next decade. If he doesn't, just cut him. I really like taking the chance, even if it's slim. Not sure it's "rediscover"...just merely "RELAX". Kid had a ton of pressure put on him by the Bucs FO...not only taking him that high...but giving up a bunch to do it. Who friggin' does that?!? He just had the weight of the world on him not only that high a pick...but as is often mentioned...the pressures a kicker faces with men/teammates livelihoods falling on his shoulders sometimes. I feel bad for him...but like you said da...if they just brought him in and said "relax kid...you're fine"...they'll be set for a long while. Bigsoxhurt35
QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 15, 2017 -> 09:21 AM) Well I'm sold. My point was it's much harder to kick in Chicago than TB. I'm not really saying it won't happen of course anything can happen. Kickers need confidence. Hopefully for the Bears' sake he gets it back and does well. soxfan49
Anyone ever listen to Dan Hampton and actually understand what he's saying? "When you are the lead horse the scenery never changes" On what the Bears need to do today: "get out of the gate" On the secondary last year: "Hideous!" On Kevin White: "he needs to watch every game Larry Fitzgerald has played" On the young guys playing better than the old guys in week 1: "when young pups bite you know they'll be good dogs"

Well, maybe I missed all of this in school as well as the fact that half don't make sense. 1) When would Kevin White have time to watch ALL of Fitz's games? 2) Get out of the gate QUICKLY is what he meant 3) Not sure hideous is a word to describe the way a football team's DB's play 4) I've never heard the dog expression in my life
iamshack
I think it is the opposite...UNLESS you are the lead dog/horse, the scenery never changes...meaning, you are always looking at the ass of the dog/horse in front of you.
