LittleHurt05
QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Aug 19, 2017 -> 08:58 PM) Never? I meant never good in a Sox jersey. And he hadn't been great with the Padres. Obviously he he was pretty solid for a long time between Tampa and KC
Ducksnort
QUOTE (Soha @ Aug 19, 2017 -> 10:47 PM) That was odd. Wasn't even close. Yeah that's 2 calls overturned in the same inning...on the same umpire...on calls he made against the away team losing by a ton...like really? Ducksnort
Nice only 9 more to go lol. 2B away from the cycle for Jose
caulfield12
Between the scout/s who recommend Holland, Shields and Covey...better hope he was also behind Kahnle and Swarzak. And Bourjos actually has been a fairly productive contributor for the Rays, fwiw. On the plus side, Leury, Avi, Delmonico and Davidson (sort of). southsider2k5
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 19, 2017 -> 09:21 PM) Anderson since he signed deal has got a little too comfortable. This is absolute BS with what he has been through this year.
caulfield12
https://sports.yahoo.com/byron-buxton-shows...-192913367.html This Buxton inside the park hr is tons more exciting than all the action after the first...Twins and Angels tied for second wild card, btw. Guess we will see if Moncada can top it...definitely won't be at Guaranteed Rate unless the fielder goes down like Mazara on the Delmonico bid. Dick Allen
Goldberg is bad. Hawk said they have used 24 pitchers this year. You are going to get a fair share that shouldn't be there.
caulfield12
Wonder if they bother recalling Fulmer in Sept?...we'll get Guerrero and Danish, but I'm not sure how sending Adams out against MLB hitters will help, unless Cooper can figure out a way to amp up his velocity. SoxAce
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 19, 2017 -> 08:59 PM) There are maybe 4 competent pitchers on this roster. Quite impressive Rodon, Gonzalez, Lopez, Minaya? Hopefully Giolito is the 5th.

greg775
I know we are rebuilding but the commish should step in and declare Holland unfit for MLB. It's making a farce of baseball. In the greg can be wrong category ... man I was wrong bout Saladino. I loved that guy. He is a miserable hitter. Glad my fave Avi got 2 hits tonight, but Anderson with a rare (of late) 0 for 5. Just getting caught up on the game. Wowsie, Holland is so bad. Fathom could line extra bases off him. Caulfield could whack a single off him. Señor Ding-Dong
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 19, 2017 -> 09:29 PM) Pretty sure his range is considered awful also He's got plenty of speed and athleticism, so range isn't the problem. I think it's mostly mental issues with him and perhaps to an extent his mechanics/fundamentals.
soxforlife05
Not sure what they see in Covey. This is one of the worst bullpens I have ever seen on any team. Perfect for the tank.
greg775
QUOTE (Señor Ding-Dong @ Aug 20, 2017 -> 03:39 AM) He's got plenty of speed and athleticism, so range isn't the problem. I think it's mostly mental issues with him and perhaps to an extent his mechanics/fundamentals. He's learning and it all will pay off for him when we play meaningful games someday. All this is prep for him. He'll be OK. He has tools.
Señor Ding-Dong
QUOTE (Scoots @ Aug 19, 2017 -> 09:38 PM) Yeah the regression is not surprising considering...he was one of "those" draftees...wonder if there is a good shortstop the Sox can sign in the first round next summer. How long is Anderson's contract for? With the draft you gotta go BPA. And it's too early to give up on Anderson, though I'm not bullish on him sticking at SS or improving his pitch recognition/patience. His extension is 6 years. soxforlife05
We should get a shot at Turang. Don't worry about Anderson . If Turang is any good Edited August 20, 2017 by soxforlife05
