greg775
I wonder if he needs a scope. You don't hear about baseball players needing clean up work on their knees that much. I wonder if they keep it quiet most offseasons. They must at least suspect something besides shin splints, right? Why do an MRI? Not trying to be an alarmist. I'm sure he'll be fine. Think he'll be shut down til spring training though?

Lip Man 1
Not surprised. This team has been a M*A*S*H unit the entire season. For an organization that prides itself on keeping guys healthy, something went seriously off the tracks this year. Just hope it is nothing serious or even nagging. Ever try to do anything with shin splints? Basically you can't and Moncada is a kid they are putting a tremendous amount of faith in to help turn things around. southsider2k5
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Aug 25, 2017 -> 11:20 AM) Death like symptoms. RIP Yoan. Don't be dramatic. It is only a double amputation.
Dick Allen
It's a shame, but let's face it, does it really matter if this is career ending? He's obviously a bust.

Balta1701
So yeah, the 10 day DL people are being serious about that right? And it's a "Bone contusion"? Is that going to fit under the realm of shin splints? Or did he get HBP there or something and make it worse?

ChiSox59
Just another example of why calling him up this year was dumb.

Lip Man 1
Given that this team has used the DL over 20 times (most for far longer than 10 days), I'm not surprised. Typical White Sox luck.
ChiSox59
QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Aug 25, 2017 -> 02:01 PM) Do they play on a foam-pit field in the minors? No, but this team is trash and Moncada didn't exactly force his way into the bigs. Make the young man earn it when all he is doing in the majors is blowing service time. And now here is blowing service time on the DL... I would have left him in AAA until next May. It is what it is. I totally understand the reasoning behind getting him to Chicago when they did. I just didn't love the decision.
ChiSox59
QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 25, 2017 -> 02:02 PM) Given that this team has used the DL over 20 times (most for far longer than 10 days), I'm not surprised. Typical White Sox luck. Most teams have.
bmags
I would imagine the white sox time lost to the DL is not even top 10.

Bone contusion is not the correct term. It really should be the stress reaction terminology. But I think that will scare too many people. ptatc
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 25, 2017 -> 01:26 PM) So yeah, the 10 day DL people are being serious about that right? And it's a "Bone contusion"? Is that going to fit under the realm of shin splints? Or did he get HBP there or something and make it worse? Exactly. It's not really a contusion but the effect on the bone is the same as the stress reaction. It's just an insidious onset as opposed to a traumatic one. Chicago White Sox
QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 25, 2017 -> 02:10 PM) I would imagine the white sox time lost to the DL is not even top 10. With Jones, Putnam, & Soto included?
