Bob Sacamano
I don't really get the whole West Coast draw for Japanese players. Theres maybe one break in the season where he would be able to go back home and if he is an All-Star, he wouldn't be able to go home anyway. Is it more for family to visit? There's also generally larger Japanese populations so it might just be more comfortable or they already have friends or family there.

GenericUserName
Same guy who had Castillo to the White Sox and says Stanton is going to the Cardinals is saying Ohtani picked the Mariners. Sources: #Mariners win the Shohei Ohtani sweepstakes. Ohtani wanted the west coast and a smaller market. Mariners are not only getting a great arm but also another great bat for the lineup. Huge win for the organization!— Brett Moccia (@brettm1319) December 4, 2017 He's almost definitely just banking on the fact that the Mariners are probably gonna sign him so he looks like he had the scoop a week early, but its funny to see him defend his tweet.
