Sox vs Det, Lopez vs Jaye

Interesting thing with Lopez is he's been without his best offspeed (breaking ball) the whole time he's been up. I'm looking forward to seeing him work through the lumps like so many young starters have to do. The raw talent is great and it looks like he's got a good head on his shoulders.

Not overly impressed with Lopez as a starter. Has been a two-pitch pitcher with his slider non-existent. I easily see why many projected him as a late inning reliever. If he's going to be an effective starter, he needs to throw more high fastballs.

I see a guy who did a decent job of pitching out of trouble in a lot of innings without anywhere close to his best stuff. He's most likely pitching his highest innings total in his pro career . It;s a good sign that he can pitch not just throw,

Anderson nearing .270; he's suddenly one of baseball's finest prospects. Davidson 25 homers; congrats Mr. Davidson, hope you make some money playing this game of baseball.

Think about it. Anderson has gone from a dismal season to an untouchable hot prospect. Congrats TA.

nearing .270? .263 is nowhere near .270 this late in a season. still can't walk to save his life he has to hit well over .300 to have good offensive value.

Not true, considering his speed, power.

Come on dude. Is .007 in BA that big of a difference? Gregg deserves some credit for coming around on TA.

He has pretty good power for a SS but his K/BB rate is terrible. But the key for a SS is that he at least plays average defense. So far TA is below average statistically. Hopefully his resurgence offensively will have a positive influence on his defense if confidence is a factor. Next spring is a key time for him to show marked improvement or the Sox may need to see if maybe 3B would be a better alternative.
